About your Team:
The Platform engineering team is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer - Design, the person will define, design and develop plans for installation/reconfiguration, and overall management of systems to provide reliable, resilient and secure solutions.
In this role, the person is expected to have strong knowledge of program and scripting, system administration, operating systems, virtualization, networking, engineering, and administration. They have excellent problem-solving skills and systems troubleshooting skills. The person should have passion to continuously improve services, enhance security and optimize service performance.
What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:
- Senior Engineer responsible for designing automated solutions leveraging cutting edge tools. Specifically focused on infrastructure and containerization.
- Provides direct support to technical and non-technical entities in order to define requirements and deliver solutions to meet organizational needs including new deployments, upgrades, performance tuning and testing.
- Implement and utilize asset inventory, configuration management database, capacity management, performance management, resource optimization, and security (access control, authorization, and accounting) for all technologies in scope.
- Define requirements, perform research, evaluate vendors/solutions, design/implement solutions, and provide ongoing support for all technologies in scope. Provide simple but effective scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Drive consistent standardized solutions across IB for all hardware, software, configurations, and processes.
- Implement tools and processes for efficient and effective operational management of the environment -- change management, monitoring, alerting, incident handling, customer request handling, etc.
- Schedule and provide after-hours or weekend support when necessary to perform high-risk or planned downtime of IB’s data center systems for upgrades and maintenance.
- Participate in defining and executing on a roadmap of projects that continues to raise the bar through implementing innovative technology, tools, automation, and processes.
- Interact with internal teams to provide solutions and resolve problems in a timely and proactive manner.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of various technical ability.
What required skill’s you need:
- Programming and Scripting
- Proficiency in languages such as Ansible, Python, or Ruby.
- Scripting skills in Bash, Perl, or similar languages.
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools like Jenkins, GitLab
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Cloud Computing
- Strong knowledge with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

- Experience with system performance tuning and monitoring.
- Networking
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and other network protocols
- Experience with load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs
- Monitoring and Logging
- Proficiency in using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios
- Experience with logging tools like Splunk, Elasticsearch etc..

What You’ll Be Owning:
We are seeking a senior-level Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy advanced data-driven applications in support of mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate operates independently with minimal oversight, delivers production-grade solutions, and understands how to translate operational requirements into scalable, secure solutions.
This role blends full-stack Python development, geospatial analytics, dashboarding, DevSecOps practices, and familiarity with Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD environments.
What You Must Have:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance is required with the ability to obtain a CI Poly. 10+ years of relevant experience. (A combination of years of experience & professional certifications & education can be used in lieu of years of experience)
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and demonstrated experience building scalable, production-ready applications.
- Experience querying and integrating web APIs to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data.
- Proficiency with at least one Python web framework (Flask, FastAPI, Django, or similar).
- Experience developing interactive data visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or comparable tools.
- Experience building dashboards and analytic interfaces using Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar platforms.

- Manage and operate centralized log aggregation and search infrastructure using the ELK stack/VictoriaLogs
- Define and maintain infrastructure-as-code standards across the organization
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response, driving root cause analysis and long-term remediation
Basic Qualifications:
- Very strong ability to listen attentively, apply logic and reason, follow- through, can-do attitude, and exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments - cluster management, networking, scaling, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience migrating or re-architecting applications from tightly coupled systems to distributed, cloud-native patterns
- Solid understanding of cloud and on-premises networking - subnets, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, and service mesh concepts
- Hands-on experience with GitLab for source control, CI/CD pipeline management, and GitOps workflows
- Experience with identity and access management, including Keycloak configuration and integration
- Familiarity with security operations concepts and threat visibility tooling
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance long-term architecture thinking with day-to-day operational needs
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Background in database operations and reliability for relational databases beyond day-to-day administration
- Practical experience operating and maintaining PostgreSQL databases in production
- Prior work in regulated or security-sensitive industries
- Experience with SIEM platforms and security event monitoring
