The Enterprise Advanced team is a diverse group of individuals across Europe and India, who develop software to run MongoDB on any type of infrastructure at global scale. Our software and services allow users to deploy fault-tolerant, globally distributed MongoDB clusters in minutes.

The main focus of this team is to adapt our software to manage MongoDB clusters which are deployed in data centers or private cloud platforms, while offering cutting edge capabilities to our self-managing customers.

You will work on the core functionality for all of our products, mainly on the Ops Manager, Cloud Manager, and Automation products.  Our team's end users are some of the largest businesses in the world, deploying massive clusters and processing huge amounts of data.

You’ll spend your time deeply understanding how customers grow their workloads, developing hypotheses about where scaling breaks down, and validating them with design solutions across Atlas and the MongoDB server. If you’re doing well, you will continuously be accelerating the rate at which our users can safely scale up, scale down, and horizontally scale their deployments.

Our engineering teams are responsible for ensuring that clusters can scale seamlessly as demand changes — from automatic vertical scaling to horizontal auto-scaling — while keeping customer operations and workloads highly available and performant. Achieving this requires clear scaling policies, strong observability into capacity and performance, and resilient mechanisms for rapid yet low-risk scaling actions across our distributed service.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineering to strengthen and standardize how clusters scale in Atlas — defining strategies and features that make scaling across our multi-tenant, globally distributed platform safe, predictable, and low-impact for customers, from underlying MongoDB server capabilities through to Atlas automation and APIs..

The Team

MongoDB’s Storage Layer Services (SLS) team is re-architecting the MongoDB cloud storage layer and sits at the heart of our next-generation cloud storage architecture. Atlas Growth is a cloud engineering group whose mission is to guide customers through their app development journey—from cluster configuration, data modeling and load testing, to running a production workload at scale. The MongoDB Query Testing Tools Team is hiring Software Engineers who want to join us in building a state-of-the-art distributed query system. Our Team builds tooling that allows us to ship Query Engine features with high confidence in both correctness and performance, making it a great fit if you like seeing your work protect real customers at scale. The team develops advanced testing frameworks (end-to-end testing, fuzzing, property-based testing) as well as performance measurement tools, including high-volume workload generation tools.

The team is part of the Query organization which is responsible for the MongoDB Query Language and the lifecycle of each query, from parsing to optimization to plan selection; our engineers work on maintaining and improving our optimization and execution frameworks and building new query language features to help power our customers' critical workloads. Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of experience in software development and/or performance engineering

MongoDB Technical Services Engineers use their exceptional problem solving and customer service skills, along with their deep technical experience, to advise customers and to solve their complex MongoDB problems. Technical Service Engineers are experts in the entire MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, cloud and infrastructure. You'll be working alongside our largest customers, solving their complex challenges - resolving questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between. We are hiring an experienced Security Software Engineer (Staff or Senior) for our Infrastructure Security team to design and build scalable security controls and services within MongoDB Atlas multi-cloud infrastructure.

The team sits within the Site Reliability Engineering organization and works with other engineering teams to ensure that our infrastructure adheres to the highest security standards.

This role can be based out of our Dublin office, or work fully remotely in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build core security primitives and services that protect MongoDB Atlas compute, networking, and identity across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Build secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security mechanisms (AppArmor, SELinux, seccomp, cgroups), Kubernetes, and eBPF to enforce runtime policies and gain deep visibility into systems behaviour
• Develop APIs, automation, and tooling that manage security posture at scale (CSPM, vulnerability management, workload identity) and provide monitoring, logging, and alerting pipelines that integrate with our tooling (Grafana, Splunk, Victoria Metrics.)
• Integrate security into our CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows (Terraform) so that security controls are versioned, reviewed, and deployed just like any other code
• Lead complex projects end‑to‑end, from problem discovery and design docs to implementation, rollout, and long‑term ownership
• Collaborate with SRE, platform and product engineering teams to define secure architectures for new infrastructure and services

Qualifications:
