What You’ll Do 

1. Contribute to the design, iteration, and qualification ofKatalyst’s spacecraft Electrical Power System (EPS), including power conversion, power distribution, battery interface electronics, solar array interfaces, protection circuitry, and subsystem power interfaces. 
2. Design,modify, and review schematics, PCB layouts, interface definitions, and analysis packages for spacecraft power electronics, with emphasis on switch-mode power supplies, DC/DC converters, load switching, current sensing, fault protection, and EMI-aware layout practices. 
3. Support integrated operation of EPS hardware during functional, performance, and qualification testing, working directly with test engineers to execute bench, thermal vacuum, vibration, and other qualification test campaigns.
4. Help own integrated functional testing of EPS hardware with avionics, flight software, mechanisms, payloads, and other spacecraft subsystems, ensuring power interfaces behave correctly across nominal, off-nominal, and fault cases.
5. Plan and execute targeted stress, margin, and performance testing, exercising hardware across design extremes such as input voltage range, load transients, thermal limits, startup sequencing, fault response, and converter stability.
6. Help define design changes and architecture improvements for future spacecraft power systems, including EPS feature upgrades, power budget impacts, redundancy considerations, telemetry needs, and mission-specific power requirements.

Your Ideal Background

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field.
2. 3+ years of experience designing, testing, or integrating power electronics, spacecraft EPS hardware, battery/solar power interfaces, or closely related high-reliability power systems.
3. Strong understanding of switch-mode power supply design, DC/DC converter architectures, compensation/stability, magneticsselection, protection circuitry, and practical power electronics debugging. 
4. Experience designing ormodifying schematics and PCB layouts for power electronics, including high-current routing, grounding, thermal considerations, creepage/clearance, current sensing, and EMI/EMC-aware layout practices.

8. Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, bench testing, and debugging using oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, DMMs, logic analyzers, and related lab equipment.
9. Experience writing or executing test procedures, documenting results, and driving board- or component-level troubleshooting through root cause and corrective action.
10. Experience integrating power electronics with other spacecraft or embedded subsystems; exposure to environmental testing such as thermal vacuum or vibration is a plus but not required.

Compensation and Benefits: Your base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. The anticipated salary range for this role is $105,000 - $145,000 annually.

YOUR MISSION

As a Mechanical Engineer at True Anomaly, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing the next generation of spacecraft that define the future of space security and sustainability. From LEO/GEO satellites to small sat platforms and on-orbit servicing vehicles, you will own the mechanical design of flight systems that operate in some of the most demanding environments known to engineering. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical structures, mechanisms, and assemblies for LEO/GEO satellites, small sat platforms, and on-orbit servicing vehicles, ensuring designs meet performance, mass, and reliability requirements across the full hardware lifecycle.
• Own end-to-end development of spacecraft structural systems and mechanisms — from concept and trade studies through prototyping, qualification, and flight hardware delivery.
• Design and develop primary and secondary structures sized for launch load environments, including sine burst, random vibration, and shock, in compliance with launch vehicle ICD requirements.
• Lead the design of spacecraft mechanisms and deployment systems, including hinges, hold-down and release mechanisms, solar array drives, antenna pointing systems, and other precision moving assemblies for on-orbit operation.
• Package and integrate electronics assemblies and avionics hardware within the spacecraft structure, accounting for thermal interface requirements, EMI shielding, harness routing, and accessibility for integration and test.
• Support propulsion system integration, including structural mounting, propellant line routing, thruster bracket design, and compliance with propulsion subsystem interface requirements.
• Develop and manage detailed 3D CAD models and drawings for spacecraft components, subsystems, and assemblies using NX (Siemens) and/or SolidWorks, maintaining configuration integrity throughout the program.
• Define and enforce GD&T standards on piece part and assembly drawings, and review supplier and team deliverables for compliance.
• Lead and present at spacecraft design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) and drive resolution of technical risks, open actions, and subsystem interface trades.
• Serve as a key technical interface with structures, thermal, avionics, mechanisms, and propulsion teams to validate designs and ensure compliance with mission and environmental requirements.
• Develop and execute test plans to support structural and mechanisms qualification, acceptance testing, and on-orbit deployment verification.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 6 -14 years of professional experience in mechanical design, with direct experience in spacecraft or satellite hardware development.
• Demonstrated experience designing structures for launch load environments, including familiarity with launch vehicle user guides, load cycle definition, and structural margin compliance.

You will work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team to identify, develop, and deliver algorithms for modeling complex coupled physics including 6-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) rigid body dynamics, thermal systems, attitude dynamics and control, power systems, propulsion, and their interactions. This role focuses on building the simulation infrastructure that enables engineers to design spacecraft, validate control algorithms, analyze system performance, and predict mission outcomes with high confidence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write well-structured, efficient code using modern C++ best practices (C++ 17 / C++ 20), with a particular emphasis on performance and maintainability

True Anomaly is seeking a Principal Spacecraft Simulation Software Engineer to define the long-term technical vision and architecture for a simulation platform that spans some of the hardest problems in modern aerospace — from high-fidelity multi-physics modeling of spacecraft and constellations to simulation of complex, dynamic environments that don't yet have established playbooks.

At this level, your impact extends well beyond individual features. The platform you help shape will underpin mission planning, autonomy development, GNC validation, and operational decision-making across a range of scenarios that are technically novel by design. You will set technical direction across the simulation organization, serve as the internal authority on simulation methodology and best practices, and drive the technical culture of the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Vision & Architecture

• Own the long-term technical strategy and architectural roadmap for True Anomaly's simulation infrastructure, spanning multi-physics modeling, real-time, faster-than-real-time execution, and hardware/software-in-the-loop environments

• Drive design, analysis, and test activities for electrical power systems (EPS) across the full product lifecycle — from concept through production and on-orbit operations 
• Lead system-level trade studies balancing performance, technical risk, mass, cost, and schedule across power subsystem designs

QUALIFICATIONS

True Anomaly is seeking an innovative Mechanisms Engineering Manager to lead a small, agile team responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of precision, affordable, motor-driven actuation systems for orbital platforms. Reporting to the VP of New Product Engineering, this role encompasses hands-on technical leadership alongside people management, program planning, and product delivery. The team's portfolio spans precision pointing and tracking systems, solar array drive assemblies, reaction wheels, solar array release mechanisms, optical focusing systems, CubeSat dispensers, and 1G test stands. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in spacecraft mechanisms and motor-driven systems, and the drive to vertically integrate in-house solutions that deliver real mission advantage. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the technical direction for spacecraft mechanism systems, including precision gimbals, motor-driven actuators, and associated control electronics 
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of mechanisms engineers, including a dedicated motor control engineer, to develop fully vertically integrated actuation solutions 
• Oversee end-to-end mechanisms development lifecycle: requirements definition, mechanical and motor control design, analysis, procurement, integration, and test 
• Lead the design and development of precision pointing, tracking, and articulation systems for on-orbit payload and antenna applications 
• Partner closely with the GNC team to develop and validate bearing determination, stabilization, and closed-loop pointing control 
• Develop and maintain mechanism performance budgets, including pointing accuracy, torque margin, lifetime, and disturbance analyses

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated experience with motor-driven actuation systems, including brushless DC motors, stepper motors, and associated drive electronics

About The Role: 

Urban Sky is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to own the technical development and product evolution of our HUSKY bus platform – the backbone of our stratospheric flight systems. HUSKY provides integrated power distribution, Ethernet-based communications, and onboard compute for our balloon vehicles and customer payloads. This role sits at the intersection of firmware engineering, systems architecture, and product development.

As the product lead for HUSKY, you will work closely with the portfolio manager to drive R&D iteration cycles from architecture through validation and handoff to manufacturing. You will also interface directly with defense customers, supporting integration, network accreditation, and cybersecurity compliance requirements. This is a senior, high-ownership role for an engineer who thrives in a vertically integrated startup where decisions at the firmware layer have direct consequences on flight safety, mission success, and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: 

HUSKY Bus Product Ownership

• Serve as the technical product lead for the HUSKY bus platform, owning the firmware architecture and driving iterative development cycles in collaboration with the portfolio manager
• Define firmware requirements with the portfolio manager, as informed by hardware trade studies, system-level constraints, and customer mission needs
• Lead design reviews, architecture decisions, and trade space analyses for new HUSKY revisions
• Manage the transition of validated designs from R&D into the manufacturing pipeline, ensuring design-for-manufacturability and documentation completeness
• Maintain version-controlled firmware baselines and establish robust release processes and configuration management practices
• Manage and develop firmware configuration tools to enable an automated customer interface

Embedded Firmware Development

• Design, develop, and verify embedded firmware for real-time systems operating in the stratospheric environment, including power management, communication schemas, network architecture, and compute subsystems
• Develop and maintain firmware for low-level hardware interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
• Implement and optimize RTOS-based or bare-metal firmware for microcontrollers and FPGAs as appropriate
• Ensure firmware robustness for operation in extreme stratospheric conditions: low temperatures, low pressure, radiation effects, and power constraints
• Develop and execute firmware-level unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test benches, and integration test procedures

Systems Architecture & Model-Based Development

• Define and document the HUSKY system architecture, including interface control documents (ICDs), data flow diagrams, and power budgets
• Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) principles to capture system behavior, manage requirements traceability, and support design verification
• Develop and maintain network topology models covering onboard Ethernet, serial communications, and payload interfaces
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure firmware design is tightly coupled with hardware constraints and thermal/power profiles

Electrical Engineering Interface

• Leverage a strong working knowledge of electrical engineering principles to inform firmware design decisions, including signal integrity, power sequencing, and peripheral driver development
• Partner with PCB designers and electrical engineers to review schematics, validate hardware bring-up, and debug hardware-firmware interaction issues
• Participate in hardware trade studies and component selection decisions where firmware implications are significant

Defense Customer & Cybersecurity Support

• Serve as a technical point of contact for defense customers integrating with the HUSKY bus, supporting requirements definition, interface documentation, and integration activities
• Support defense cybersecurity and network accreditation efforts, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, STIGs, and authority-to-operate (ATO) activities
• Implement and maintain security controls for networked operational systems, including secure boot, encrypted communications, and access control
• Interface with government program offices and defense contractors in a professional and technically credible manner

Flight Safety & Reliability

• Design firmware with flight safety as a primary constraint, including watchdog management, fault detection and isolation, graceful degradation, and safe-state behaviors
• Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) at the firmware and system level to identify and mitigate risk
• Support field operations and anomaly investigations, providing rapid firmware diagnostics and patching as needed
• Maintain thorough documentation of known failure modes, workarounds, and operational limitations

Field Operations & Communications Exercises

• Support field test flights and customer demonstrations, providing on-site firmware expertise to ensure HUSKY bus systems perform reliably throughout all phases of flight operations
• Lead network integration communication exercises with defense customers, evaluating security boundaries, verifying data flows across the HUSKY bus, and validating that network segmentation and access controls perform as designed under operational conditions
• Document exercise findings, network architecture decisions, and security boundary assessments; communicate results clearly to both internal engineering teams and defense customer stakeholders
• Coordinate with the flight operations team and customer representatives to plan and execute pre-flight network checkout procedures, ensuring all payload communications and security configurations are verified prior to launch

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of embedded firmware engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior individual contributor capacity
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded targets; Python scripting for test automation and tooling is a plus
• Strong understanding of network topology, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and serial communications protocols
• Demonstrated experience with systems architecture, requirements development, and interface definition
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals sufficient to read schematics, debug hardware, and drive hardware-firmware co-design
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines for embedded targets, and configuration management
• Excellent technical communication skills; able to produce clear architecture documents, ICDs, and test reports
• Self-directed and capable of managing multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-Haves/Preferred Skills: 

• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or equivalent
• Background working with defense customers or on DoD programs; familiarity with RMF, CMMC, and ATO processes
• Experience with cybersecurity controls for networked embedded systems, including NIST SP 800-171 or STIG compliance
• Familiarity with aerospace or high-altitude platform avionics, including stratospheric balloon, UAS, or small satellite systems
• Experience with FPGAs (Xilinx/AMD or Intel/Altera) and HDL development (VHDL or Verilog)
• Background in power electronics firmware, including battery management, solar charging, or DC-DC converter control

The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for an energetic, analytical, and detail-oriented accountant to join our team and push renewable energy forward.  In this role, you will work closely with Wunder’s Director of Accounting to manage all financial operations in a rapidly scaling financial technology company. Specifically, you will be responsible for conducting monthly close, preparing monthly financial statements, developing budgets and analyzing spend trends, managing accounts payable, supporting annual audits, addressing technical accounting aspects, wrangling and manipulating large amounts of data, and helping define our financial processes and controls. In addition to corporate accounting, you will also be managing millions of dollars in commercial-scale solar assets spread across multiple entities.
