This role is responsible for supporting core general ledger accounting activities, with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely financial close processes, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The position involves ownership of intercompany accounting, monitoring variances, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries for the month end and year end close process
- Ownership and reconciliation of various intercompany relationships
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations for monthly compliance
- Analyze variances and trends within certain accounts, cost centers, and entities
- Support AP, Financial Reporting, Tax, and Regulatory colleagues with requests
- Assist with external audit requests
- Work cross-functionally with colleagues in Treasury, Finance, Internal Audit, and Business
- Design and documentation of procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Work on and lead projects as required
- Coach and review work of more junior staff
- Some overtime will be required
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4+ years of financial accounting experience preferred
- CPA, Public Accounting, or large company experience preferred but not required
- Strong familiarity with US GAAP
- Proven experience with large ERP and/or Settlement systems, Oracle Cloud / a plus
- International accounting experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid systems skills including advanced Excel and Word.
- Experience working in a complex multi-currency accounting environment / a plus
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools, automation, or emerging technologies in finance / a plus

- Inglés fluido
- Licenciatura en Contabilidad o Finanzas requerida
- Más de 4 años de experiencia en contabilidad financiera (preferido)
- CPA, experiencia en firma contable (Public Accounting) o en empresas grandes (preferido, pero no requerido)
- Sólido conocimiento de US GAAP
- Experiencia comprobada con sistemas ERP grandes y/o sistemas de liquidación, Oracle Cloud (deseable)
- Experiencia en contabilidad internacional (preferido)

About the Position
The Payroll Manager is a highly hands-on operational leader within the People Operations team, responsible for end-to-end processing of global payroll across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, as well as administering North American and international benefits programs.
Reporting to the Senior Director, People Operations, this is a true payroll practitioner role. You will be directly responsible for executing payroll cycles—not just overseeing them. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise in Canada and US payroll processing and thrives in a detail-oriented, execution-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll Execution (Hands-On)
- Personally execute end-to-end payroll processing, with a primary focus on Canada and US payroll
- Process payroll cycles across multiple regions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage payroll inputs, calculations, adjustments, and reconciliations
- Support global year-end payroll activities, tax filings, and reporting
North American & International Benefits Administration
- Administer Canada and US benefits including health, dental, disability, life, retirement plans, wellness programs, and leaves
- Administer international benefits in partnership with global vendors and local brokers across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC
- Process enrollments, life events, terminations, and benefit updates globally

About the Position
The Payroll Manager is a highly hands-on operational leader within the People Operations team, responsible for end-to-end processing of global payroll across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, as well as administering North American and international benefits programs.
Reporting to the Senior Director, People Operations, this is a true payroll practitioner role. You will be directly responsible for executing payroll cycles—not just overseeing them. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise in Canada and US payroll processing and thrives in a detail-oriented, execution-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll Execution (Hands-On)
- Personally execute end-to-end payroll processing, with a primary focus on Canada and US payroll
- Process payroll cycles across multiple regions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage payroll inputs, calculations, adjustments, and reconciliations
- Support global year-end payroll activities, tax filings, and reporting
North American & International Benefits Administration
- Administer Canada and US benefits including health, dental, disability, life, retirement plans, wellness programs, and leaves
- Administer international benefits in partnership with global vendors and local brokers across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC
- Process enrollments, life events, terminations, and benefit updates globally
- Maintain accurate benefits data across payroll, HRIS, and vendor systems
- Ensure compliance with regional benefits regulations
Compliance, Controls & Governance
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, state, and international payroll legislation
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of payroll and benefits data
- Support audits and maintain internal controls
- Monitor and implement changes to global payroll and benefits regulations
Employee Support & Collaboration
- Act as escalation point for payroll and benefits inquiries
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely support to employees
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors globally
Systems & Reporting
- Manage and optimize payroll systems such as UKG, Workday, CloudPay, ADP, or similar

Who You Are
Experienced Payroll Practitioner (Mandatory)
- 10+ years of payroll experience, including 3+ years in a Payroll Lead or Manager role
- Mandatory: Hands-on experience processing Canada and US payroll (not just oversight)
- Proven experience as a payroll practitioner actively running payroll cycles
- Experience with global payroll (EMEA, LATAM, APAC) is preferred
- Experience administering North American and international benefits
Analytical & Detail-Oriented
- Strong numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)

We seek a highly skilled and experienced General Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in San José, Costa Rica. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, managing complex accounting processes, and providing crucial support to the financial management. You will:
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, or NIIF standards
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries
- Oversee general accounting functions, providing support to financial management. Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers
- Ensure standards and policies are adhered to, and internal controls are in place to support accounting processes and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Costa Rican tax regulations, auditing requirements, and fiscal laws. Ensure compliance with Free Trade Zone regulations

We are searching for a Country Manager for Central America and the Caribbean who will be accountable for the growth, profitability, and diversification of the region (across 4+ countries).
