- Scalable Data Systems: Design and implement high-performance data processing and serving patterns across large-scale healthcare datasets, using the right tools for the problem across SQL, Python, Spark, Rust, C++, and emerging AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Foundational Data Models: Create shared data models, productized datasets, reusable libraries, and technical standards that become the foundation for downstream product, analytics, and application teams.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):
- Data Product Engineering Expertise: Extensive experience building production-grade, large-scale data products, services, and analytical systems that serve real customer and business use cases.
- Modern Data Systems Depth: Strong technical depth across SQL, distributed data processing, cloud data platforms, MPP databases, and high-scale compute frameworks such as Spark, Python, Rust, C++, or equivalent technologies.
- Architecture & Systems Design: Demonstrated ability to design data models, serving patterns, platform components, and system architectures for complex, high-volume data environments.

- History of creating and developing business development strategies for consultants to maximize their marketed and pipeline product offerings

- Tool Adoption and Training Drive fluency and adoption of our core AI tools. Partner with the training team to design and deliver content, templates, and playbooks that help every team member build AI fluency. Reduce friction and resistance by making the value tangible and immediate.

We’re not hiring a traditional QA or testing specialist. We’re looking for an analytically rigorous, detail-oriented professional who knows pipelines can run flawlessly yet produce analytically wrong data—and that meeting specs doesn’t always mean meeting customer needs.
This is where the Senior Data Quality Analyst comes in. You’ll be the independent voice on data outputs—asking not just “did it run?” but “does this make sense for the customer?” Grounded in how customers use healthcare data, you’ll drive the analysis and quality monitoring needed to ensure it delivers real value.
Role Mission & Mandate
The Senior Data Quality Analyst will own three standing operational responsibilities that are critical to Komodo’s weekly data delivery and major version release process:
- Data output validation: Run pre/post-release comparisons across key attributes to ensure changes meet data quality standards—not just engineering specs.
- Bug investigation support: Investigate issues from customer complaints and monitoring, document findings, and partner with engineering on root cause and resolution.
- Weekly publication review preparation: Assemble the execution summary, test coverage audit, and issue disposition list to support DPQ’s Monday release recommendation.

I. Data Output Validation (primary focus)
The core of this role is independently assessing whether Komodo’s data outputs are analytically sound—ensuring the data tells the right story for customers, not just that the engineering works.
- Release validation: Design and run pre/post-release comparisons across key attributes (patient counts, claim volumes, fill rates, deduplication, payer attribution, provider coverage).
- Anomaly identification: Surface and document issues missed by automated tests—valid but suspicious patterns like demographic shifts, volume changes, or rule edge cases.
- Disposition recommendations: For each issue, assess what changed, customer impact, and recommend action (approve, conditional approve, hold, or escalate).
- Coverage documentation: Track what was tested, what passed, and accepted risks for each release—creating an auditable quality trail.
II. Bug Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
Data quality issues rarely surface clearly—this role requires the rigor to navigate ambiguity and the precision to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Issue triage: Review and prioritize DPQ Jira issues, distinguishing data output problems (DPQ), pipeline failures (engineering), and cases needing joint investigation.
- Hands-on investigation:Query Snowflake to trace anomalies to source, validate against expectations, and rule out alternatives.
- Findings documentation: Produce clear reports outlining the issue, evidence, likely cause, and next steps for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Resolution coordination: Partner with Data Engineering and Architects to drive resolution and verify fixes address the root issue.
III. Weekly Publication Review Preparation
Each week, Komodo publishes updated data. DPQ owns the release recommendation at the Monday meeting, and this role assembles the inputs that inform that decision.
- Pipeline execution summary: Compile a weekly record of which data pipelines ran, their completion status, any anomalies in run time or output volume, and a comparison against expected behavior.
- Test coverage audit: For each pipeline that ran during the week, document which quality checks were expected to execute and which did, surfacing any gaps in coverage that require manual review or escalation.
- Issue consolidation: Aggregate all quality issues raised during the week — from automated alerts, manual testing, and customer reports — into a single structured view with status, severity, and recommended disposition.
- Release recommendation package: Prepare the DPQ release recommendation document in advance of the Monday meeting, enabling DPQ leadership to review and present a confident, evidence-based recommendation.

Technical Skills & Experience:
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in data quality, data analysis, or analytics engineering — preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or another domain with complex, multi-source data.
- SQL proficiency: Strong SQL skills for large-scale analysis—joins, window functions, aggregations, and tracing data lineage. Snowflake preferred.
- Data investigation: Proven ability to work through ambiguous issues from signal to root cause—ruling out as well as ruling in.
- Structured QA process: Experience designing or executing pre/post release testing, including defining attributes, tolerances, and escalation criteria.
- Python (preferred): Comfortable using Python for analysis, validation, and light automation—able to read and adapt existing scripts.
- Healthcare data (required): Familiarity with claims data (medical, pharmacy, enrollment) and common quality patterns and failure modes.

The Data Migration team is responsible for migrating client data from legacy systems and third-party platforms into Salesforce-based products for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. The team manages end-to-end migration lifecycles—from source data analysis and field mapping through transformation development, QA framework creation, validation, and production deployment—across multiple concurrent client engagements. Each project operates on dedicated cloud infrastructure with SQL-based ETL pipelines and integration tooling.
Mission
This role is responsible for executing the technical build and validation of data migration pipelines under the direction of a Data Migration Architect. The DME translates field mappings and transformation specifications into reliable, repeatable SQL-based processes, develops and maintains the QA framework, loads data into target Salesforce environments, and validates output against business requirements. This person will work primarily with the Data Migration Architect, who gathers requirements and defines mappings; the DME's focus is on accurate, independent execution of the technical build. The Project Manager leads small and large project teams through discovery, design, build, and configuration and delivers solutions for our healthcare and life sciences customers. This role provides leadership and management to project teams to ensure we deliver projects on time, with quality, and on budget.

- Integration & Orchestration: Build and optimize complex, multi-step automation flows. Assist with maintaining and growing our iPaaS (Workato) environment, treating "Integrations as a Product." Build resilient, scalable "recipes" that move data across the enterprise while maintaining strict IAM governance utilizing Okta Workflows.
- Access Governance: Implement and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) models.
- Security & Compliance: Manage SSO (SAML/OIDC) and MFA configurations. Ensure all access remains compliant with [SOC2/HIPAA/GDPR] standards through regular access reviews and audit logging.

- Identity Lifecycle Management: Design and maintain automated onboarding, offboarding, and departmental transfer processes across our ecosystem (WorkDay, Okta, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Integration & Orchestration: Build and optimize complex, multi-step automation flows. Assist with maintaining and growing our iPaaS (Workato) environment, treating "Integrations as a Product." Build resilient, scalable "recipes" that move data across the enterprise while maintaining strict IAM governance utilizing Okta Workflows.
- Access Governance: Implement and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) models.
- Security & Compliance: Manage SSO (SAML/OIDC) and MFA configurations. Ensure all access remains compliant with [SOC2/HIPAA/GDPR] standards through regular access reviews and audit logging.
- Custom Tooling: Develop custom scripts (Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.) and API integrations to bridge gaps where out-of-the-box connectors are unavailable.
- Data & AI Infrastructure Support: Secure the "Data Perimeter." Ensure that data scientists and AI models have the correct, least-privileged access to our Data Infrastructure (Data Lakes/Warehouses). Manage the identity lifecycle for AI Agents and Service Accounts, ensuring that automated "non-human" workers are governed with the same rigor as employees.
- Business Process Optimization: Collaborate with HR, Finance, Sales Ops and other teams to identify bottlenecks in the lead-to-revenue lifecycle and solve them through identity-driven automation.

You’ve engineered deterministic control planes around probabilistic models and know what it takes to make LLM-based systems reliable at scale.
- Deep experience delivering AI systems in regulated, high-trust environments with built-in auditability, regression testing, and lifecycle governance. Healthcare, fintech, defense, govtech — the domain matters less than the rigor. You’ve written production-grade Python and integrated modern GenAI tooling into platforms where compliance and reliability are non-negotiable.

- 8+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering; 3+ years leading teams in an AI/ML-intensive environment
- Hands-on experience with AI workload infrastructure — LLM serving, agent orchestration, GPU compute, or ML pipelines — and the reliability and cost challenges they introduce
- Deep AWS and production Kubernetes expertise (EKS, autoscaling, multi-cluster management) and strong IaC discipline (Terraform or equivalent)
- Demonstrated track record of driving significant cloud cost reduction through systematic FinOps — team-level budgets, cost-per-unit metrics, and leadership-facing dashboards

The Komodo Partnerships segment serves a diverse range of clients, including payers, providers, financial services firms, consultancies, digital health, and health tech companies The Sales Engineer, Partnerships role exists to provide technical expertise and strategic enablement to partners, facilitating strategies to pursue avenues of revenue outside of the life sciences. This role bridges technical knowledge and business strategy, supporting partners during discovery, qualification, and solution design to showcase the value of Komodo’s healthcare data and analytics platform. The Sales Engineer will collaborate closely with Sales and Product teams to align solutions with client and partner goals. |

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of annual base pay that we reasonably expect to pay for this position within the US. The starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position is also eligible for commissions in accordance with a written agreement or plan.
