About The Role: 

The CSV Engineer I is responsible for ensuring that GxP computerized systems at Forge Biologics are validated in compliance with regulatory standards (21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, GAMP 5). This role directly supports gene therapy manufacturing operations by leading validation activities for key systems including Veeva QMS, BMRAM, analytical lab instruments, and the Metasys BMS. By maintaining data integrity and system compliance, the CSV Engineer plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, patient safety, and regulatory inspection readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Author, review, and execute validation deliverables for GxP computerized systems, including Validation Plans, Requirements Specifications (URS/FS/DS), IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, Trace Matrices, and Validation Summary Reports.
• Supports computer system validation efforts for Veeva Vault QMS, BMRAM (laboratory information management), analytical lab instruments (e.g., HPLC, UHPLC, PCR instruments, plate readers etc), ERP System (NetSuite).
• Perform risk assessments to determine validation approach and ensure appropriate testing of system functionality, data integrity, and audit trail review.
• Manage system change control, deviations, and CAPAs related to validated systems, ensuring compliance with Forge’s quality system.
• Collaborate with IT, QA, Lab Operations, and Facilities teams to support system upgrades, patches, and periodic reviews while maintaining validated state.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field (or equivelant experience).
• 2+ years of experience in Computer System Validation (CSV) within a GxP regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device).
• Working knowledge of GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and data integrity principles (ALCOA+).
• Experience validating at least one of the following: Veeva Vault QMS, BMRAM, laboratory instrumentation (e.g., Waters, Agilent, Chromeleon, Softmax or similar), or a building management system (BMS) like Metasys.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to execute protocols with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work onsite (in Columbus, Ohio) 3-4 days/week on average.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Veeva Vault platform (QMS or QualityDocs) and BMRAM configuration or validation.
• Hands-on validation of laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, UV-Vis,)including software like Empower or Chromeleon.
• Familiarity with Metasys BMS or similar environmental monitoring systems in a GxP facility.
• Experience with electronic execution systems such as Veeva Vault Manager or similar.
• Experience supporting regulatory inspections (FDA, EMA) and responding to CSV-related observations.

As a Senior Hardware Technician, you own the geometric truth of every cell that leaves our floor. After Controls Bring-Up is complete, you set up a FARO Vantage laser tracker, level the rail, align positioners, and run the RoboDK robot calibration that tells the welder where it actually is within fractions of a millimeter. You'll capture the data, validate it against our tolerances, package it per the cell type, and hand it off to our Logical Bring-Up team. Without your work, the welder is guessing.
This is a precision role for someone who is at home with a laser tracker, comfortable around large industrial robots in teach mode, and gets satisfaction from clean data.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate a FARO Vantage laser tracker: tripod, extension, level, warm-up, and stable lock on SMRs.
• Survey and shim the robot transfer unit (RTU) rail to level within tolerance; re-survey for confirmation.
• Align positioner headstocks and tailstocks (single-side, dual-side, dynamic, static, indexable variants) and capture before/after data.
• Establish robot base coordinate systems in Polyworks Inspector via macro — verify Z-up, X-down-track.
• Run RoboDK robot calibration on welder and (where applicable) global scanner robots — base setup, geometric calibration measurement set, and validation poses.
• Capture RTU and positioner / rail-axis data using our Polyworks macros.
• Generate, clean, and export Polyworks coordinate-system and reference-point reports at six-digit decimal precision; export tables to CSV.
• Run our Python script in RoboDK to compute robot calibration error; verify against RoboDK-reported norms and flag any deviation.
• Assemble the per-cell data package (CSV, TXT, PDF) per our File Naming Convention table for the cell variant; upload to the cell's calibration-results folder.
• Walk the bring-up engineer through the data package; obtain written acceptance; tear down and pack out.
• Identify recurring fixturing, build, or alignment issues that show up on the tracker, and feed them back to design and build through our ECR process.
• Help us automate. Half of this job is repetitive (rename a file, change decimal precision, upload). If you can write Python or shell to kill those steps, we want it.
• Maintain our tracker's calibration certificate, SMRs, cabling, and bring-up laptop image; flag re-cal needs proactively.
• Mentor junior techs — we're growing the team, and being a force-multiplier matters here.

Who You Are

• 3+ years hands-on experience with a FARO laser tracker (Vantage / Ion / equivalent) in a manufacturing or contract-metrology environment.
• Working proficiency with Polyworks Inspector — running and modifying macros, generating and editing inspection reports.
• Practical understanding of dimensional metrology fundamentals: GD&T, coordinate systems, alignment, datum structures, measurement uncertainty.
• Comfort working alongside an industrial six-axis robot in teach mode — including basic teach-pendant navigation.
• Disciplined documentation and file-management practices; you understand why naming conventions matter.
• Comfortable working in PPE in an active manufacturing environment.

Preferred but not required:

• RoboDK robot calibration — geometric DH calibration and validation workflows.
• Yaskawa (or other industrial robot) teach-pendant familiarity.
• Python scripting — even basic file-rename / upload automation is a big plus.
• 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and converting CAD models into RoboDK stations.
• Experience with multiple tracker platforms (Leica, Hexagon) or photogrammetry systems.

We are looking for a Welding Engineer who will work side-by-side with a team of welding engineers to develop an autonomous robotic welding system capable of automatically generating custom motion plans and weld parameters for any part that it sees. You will also support teams with welding experiments, generating the data that propels our technology forward. You will join a team of dedicated, supportive, and enthusiastic people to help create the future of manufacturing.

What You’ll Do 

• Run weld parameter selection experiments to identify a range of welding parameters (voltage, wire speed, travel speed) that can be used for new customer applications
• Partner with robotics engineers to develop a set of rules for how to move the workpiece and robot end-effector to automate trajectory generation
• Perform robotic welding experiments to test other systems in development including sensors and inspection systems, path planning and welding strategies, and new hardware
• Work with our hardware team to fabricate test coupons for application feasibility testing and other in-house experiments
• 30%-50% travel required, in which you will be interfacing and working directly with customers.

We need a Technical Marketing Engineer. Someone who's spent real time in manufacturing and can turn that knowledge into content that technical buyers actually trust.

This isn't a traditional marketing role. You'll sit on the marketing team but spend your time with engineering, applications, sales, and customer success. Your job is to make sure everything we put out speaks the language of the shop floor, not Silicon Valley.

If a welding engineer reads our white paper, they should think "these people know what they're talking about." That's the bar.

What You’ll Do

• Write white papers, case studies, application guides, product one-pagers, and blog posts grounded in actual manufacturing and welding knowledge
• Build and maintain ROI calculators, business case tools, and other quantitative sales enablement materials
• Translate AI and robotics capabilities into clear, credible messaging for manufacturing audiences. No buzzword stacking.
• Support product launches with technically accurate positioning, competitive analysis, and go-to-market materials
• Create demo scripts, talking points, and presentation content for trade shows (FABTECH, AWS, industry events)

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field
• 3+ years in engineering, manufacturing, welding, or fabrication environments. You've been on shop floors and understand the realities of production.
• Strong technical writing. You can explain complex concepts clearly without dumbing them down.

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for building hardware that works in the real world. You'll be embedded in our sensing and mobile welding platform team, designing the mechanical systems that put our robots in motion and keep them welding accurately in dynamic, unstructured environments. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on rapid iteration, owns their designs end to end, and cares deeply about how something gets made — not just how it looks in CAD.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop mechanical assemblies for mobile robotic welding platforms, including sensor integration, structural components and systems, motion systems, and tooling interfaces
• Own designs from concept through fabrication, assembly, and field validation — iterating based on test results and real-world feedback
• Collaborate closely within a cross-functional team including mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate sensing hardware (cameras, LiDAR, proximity sensors, etc.) into compact, robust mechanical packages
• Apply sound design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles across multiple fabrication methods — machined components, sheet metal enclosures, and additive/3D-printed parts
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs in SolidWorks, managed through PDM
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering decisions with well-reasoned tradeoffs between performance, cost, and manufacturability
• Work directly with fabrication vendors and internal shop resources to turn drawings into parts — fast
• Support root cause analysis and design improvements driven by field findings and reliability data

What We're Looking For

• 3–6 years of mechanical engineering experience in a product development or hardware engineering environment
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for multi-body and multi-component assemblies, with hands-on use of PDM for version control and release workflows
• Solid command of engineering drawing standards and the ability to produce clear, manufacturable drawings; working familiarity with GD&T
• Demonstrated experience designing for multiple manufacturing methods — machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement scalable electrical systems for advanced automated equipment and robotic welding cells using SOLIDWORKS Electrical.
• Develop and maintain complete electrical documentation packages, including schematics, panel layouts, I/O lists, cable schedules, power distribution diagrams, and BOMs.
• Architect power distribution systems, grounding strategies, and protection schemes to ensure safety, robustness, and compliance.
• Specify and validate electrical components including PLCs, power supplies, breakers, contactors, safety devices, VFDs, servos, and motion systems.
• Develop, test, and debug PLC software across multiple platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley / Studio 5000 and Delta PLCs / CODESYS) where applicable.
• Integrate third-party electrical subsystems and ensure seamless system-level performance.
• Lead machine safety design efforts, contribute to risk assessments, and support compliance with relevant electrical and industrial safety standards.
• Partner with supply chain and manufacturing to optimize BOM cost, part standardization, availability, and build efficiency.
• Support systems through build, FAT, installation, and commissioning, troubleshooting electrical issues and improving future deployments.
• Drive continuous improvement by feeding field learnings back into design standards, documentation, and component selection.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, robotics, and product teams to deliver cohesive system designs.

Who You Are

• 2–6+ years of experience designing and deploying industrial electrical systems for automated equipment or machinery.
• Strong experience creating electrical schematics and panel designs using SOLIDWORKS Electrical (or similar ECAD tools).
• Solid understanding of power distribution, circuit protection, grounding, and industrial wiring standards.
• Experience working with PLC hardware and industrial controls components (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Delta, or similar platforms).
• Familiarity with machine safety systems, including safety PLCs, safety I/O, and risk assessment processes.
• Experience with robotic automation systems is a plus, ideally robotic welding applications (Yaskawa robots, Miller welding equipment, or similar).

Our Deployment Engineers work to seamlessly integrate our robots, sensors, and software into a cutting-edge autonomous welding system. They're the link between engineering and operations manufacturing groups as we prepare our robotic weld cells for deployment. What You’ll Do

• Configure and calibrate cell components to confirm our robotic welding cells are fully operational at Path’s manufacturing facility and the customer site
• Identify software issues and implement fixes
• Document system errors and submit Jira tickets for issues that require engineering team support

• Update documentation of cell operation and bring-up task processes as needed

We are standing up a new Robot Learning team focused on whole-body loco-manipulation for precision tasks in heavy manufacturing. 

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join us as a founding member. You will be among the first ML engineers on a research stack that does not exist anywhere else in the field built around visual reasoning, learned action policies, and reinforcement-learning fine-tuning from real customer data.

What You’ll Do

• Build the team's robot-learning stack from the ground up. This is a founding role; you are designing the training infrastructure, data pipelines, simulation environments, model architectures, and deployment workflows — not inheriting them. Multi-modal perception, scene understanding, and learned action generation work in tight coordination on the stack you help create.
• Stand up ML infrastructure — training pipelines, experiment tracking, data versioning, reproducible sim-to-real workflows.
• Train policies across manipulation, locomotion, and the whole-body control coupling between them. On legged platforms performing precision tasks, manipulation and locomotion are not separable — every arm motion shifts the centre of mass; the whole-body controller compensates in real time to maintain accuracy at the tool. Behavioural cloning, diffusion- and flow-matching action generation, reinforcement-learning fine-tuning. Cobots, industrial arms, and mobile platforms.
• Deploy in stages — through a phased rollout strategy that builds production trust over time. Every real-world execution accumulates training data for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate daily with mechanical engineers, perception engineers, robotics engineers, and manufacturing domain experts. Within-department rotation across home teams is expected.

Who You Are

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on robot learning experience. You have trained policies and deployed them on real robot hardware — not just in simulation.
• Sim-to-real transfer experience — built simulation environments, implemented domain randomisation, transferred policies to physical robots, debugged where it broke.
• Implementation experience with diffusion-based or flow-matching action policies for robots, and with action chunking.
• Reinforcement learning for robotics applied on real hardware — sample-efficient on-robot methods, residual RL on top of pretrained policies, on-policy fine-tuning of foundation policies.
• Strong programming skills in Python; PyTorch and ML training infrastructure at production level.
• Practical experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, or equivalent.
• Comfort with physical robots — debugging, iterating, deploying.
• Strong communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.

• Edge inference on edge-class hardware (TensorRT, ONNX, FP16 / INT8 quantisation). Real-time on-robot deployment is a core requirement.

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of a neural welding simulator - a learned world model that captures the visual and physical dynamics of welding and enables large-scale RL training. This role sits at the intersection of generative modeling, robotics, and applied physics. It is research-heavy by design, while still grounded in production reality.

This role can be located in our Columbus, Ohio Headquarters or Remote.

What You’ll Do

• Build a learned world model of the welding process that predicts future system behavior under robot actions.
• Develop multimodal neural simulators incorporating signals such as 3D scans, video, thermal data, and electrical measurements.
• Design, train, and evaluate large-scale generative or dynamics models (e.g., video prediction, latent world models, 3D or spatiotemporal representations) capable of long-horizon rollouts.
• Collaborate with reinforcement learning engineers by integrating the neural simulator into RL pipelines for policy training and evaluation.
• Run research tracks in parallel with production development, including hypothesis-driven experimentation and ablation.
• Partner closely with data and MLOps teams to support scalable training, evaluation, and deployment - while remaining comfortable owning pieces of the stack when needed.
• Translate research prototypes into robust, maintainable production code when they prove valuable.
• Validate simulator performance against real-world robotic welding data and support sim-to-real transfer.

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Tech Lead) for this new team. You write code, set the technical direction, make the architectural decisions the team builds on, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, and help shape how the team works.

What You’ll Do

• Set the ML technical direction for the team, architectural choices on perception, reasoning, and action generation; training methodology; data strategy; the path from research bet to deployed capability. As one of the first senior hires, you are designing the approach, not extending it.
• Own the architectural workstreams that define the team's research and engineering bets — multiple core build streams across action-policy learning, world-model-based supervision, and policy-orchestration interfaces.
• Design hybrid physics-ML architectures for the integrated loco-manipulation stack. Manipulation, locomotion, and the whole-body control coupling between them are not separable on legged platforms; sub-millimetre continuous-trajectory precision at the tool requires the whole-body controller to compensate for base motion in real time. Today on fixed bases; tomorrow on mobile platforms. The integration is the hard problem; you own its design.
• Own the cross-functional partnerships with hardware teams, domain experts, customer-facing assurance standards, and upstream / downstream teams. Drive a phased deployment strategy that builds production trust over time.
• Mentor and shape the team, guide junior and intermediate ICs across software, ML, robotics, and perception backgrounds; establish code-quality standards, review practices, and engineering norms; help identify and attract next hires. You write code throughout — this is a tech-lead role, not a step away from the work.

Who You Are

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on robot learning experience. You have shipped sim-to-real policies on real robots, across different tasks or platforms.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship. You have made architectural decisions on robot learning systems that others built on, and you have meaningfully shaped the development of more-junior engineers as a tech lead. This can be in academia (leading a lab subgroup, advising students) or industry.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop PCBs for embedded control, power management, motor drive, and sensor interfacing in robotic systems
