Inspections Superintendent - China 

Permanent Full Time 

This role can be based in multiple locations in China

The Inspections Superintendent is responsible for maintaining and managing the quality of an effective and efficient vessel inspection system to service the needs of our customers. 

We are currently only looking for Engineers, while we appreciate applications from Master Mariners, they will not be considered at this moment of time.

Major Responsibilities   

INSPECTIONS 

• As a member of the Inspections team, assist in the development and delivery of all inspections products. 
• Ensure that inspections of vessels ordered by the owners/managers of vessels are undertaken in a timely manner, reviewed, and finalised in accordance with guidelines.  
• Provide feedback on the quality of inspection companies.   
• Assist with the investigation of any complaints received.   
• Recommend changes to procedures to ensure Inspections integrate with the broader vetting function.   
• Assess the quality of inspections and provide feedback about an inspector’s performance.   
• Conduct assessment of DOC Holders to determine their conformance with relevant standards and their suitability for use by RightShip customers.   

VETTING 

• Perform vetting activities of barges and other type of vessels as per agreed RightShip’s and/or individual customer’s criteria  
• Conduct assessment of DOC Holders to determine their conformance with relevant standards and their suitability for use by RightShip customers  
• Carry out PSC / INC reviews as required 
• Provide support to RightShip customers on their marine activities as requested  
• Conduct review and assessment of Port State Control Inspection reports, Incident investigation reports and Customer Feedback reports 
• Contribute to update RightShip Vetting platform using pro-active reporting from shipowners, RightShip customers and other identified sources 
• Provide feedback / advice to the regional manager to identify the changes in rules / regulations in maritime to ensure readiness / compliance and development of RightShip standards and practices 
• Provide support to respond to queries about RightShip activities (i.e. vetting, risk rating, GHG rating, Inspections, etc) 
• Ensure that all correspondence with external parties and provided documentation is properly maintained and archived as per company procedures 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience  

• Master Mariner or Chief Engineer and have sailed in a senior capacity (Master/Chief Engineer/Mate) on International Trading Dry Carriers and Tankers for at between least 3-5 years sea time. Marine Engineers highly preferred.
• Shore based employment in a management capacity directly involved with the day to day technical and/or cargo operations of crude oil/petroleum product tankers.  This could include service as Petroleum Terminal Superintendent responsible for loading and discharging ships, Tanker Cargo Expeditors and Classification Society Surveyors with demonstrable tanker operations knowledge  
• Preferably have sat and passed the OCIMF/SIRE examination for tankers/gas/chemical inspections. 
• Practical knowledge of ship construction, ship structures, ship machinery, ship repairing, ships’ operations, Chartering and Quality Management System. Including the ISM Code and safety Management Systems. 
• A thorough understanding of ship surveys and certification including PSC, USCG, Flag State Surveys. 
• A good understanding of International Legislation relevant to shipping (relevant IMO and ILO regulations) and the Industry Practices and ISM Code, STCW. 
• A thorough understanding of vessel operations including current Mandatory requirements (ISM Code), Industry Standards, & recommended best practices (such as put out by ICS, etc.)

Senior Material Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the pilot production and expansion of the existing material pilot process.
• Responsible for chemical process plan, equipment selection and engineering design.

Qualifications

• Major: Chemistry related major, organic synthesis, chemical engineering, etc.
• Education and work experience: Master or above, with more than 5 years of organic synthesis work experience, fluorine chemical work experience is preferred.
• Familiar with the principles and methods of organic synthesis.
• Familiar with chemical synthesis and distillation equipment and distillation operation.
• Familiar with recrystallization process and equipment.
• Familiar with solid-liquid separation process and equipment.
• Diligent, modest and progressive.
• Obey the post transfer and job content transfer arrangement within the department.

Senior Material Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the pilot production and expansion of the existing material pilot process.

• Major: Chemistry related major, organic synthesis, chemical engineering, etc.

• Education and work experience: Master or above, with more than 5 years of organic synthesis work experience, fluorine chemical work experience is preferred.

Cathode Electrode Engineer

Responsibilities

• Locate/evaluate candidate Cathode Materials for high energy cell design, Anode will be a Li Metal coated on Cu foil
• Cathode materials development & evaluation experience; High Ni centent NCM series, NCA series, and NCMA, LFP & LFMP
• Locate/evaluate new cathode materials from various suppliers and run evaluation and screen process 
• Lead Cathode Electrode Design: optimum electrode formulation to meet the goal
• Cathode Electrode process to meet the design
• Assemble lithium metal coin and pouch cells and conduct testing with a focus on repeatability
• Perform crystal structure, microstructure, particle size, voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, cycle life testing, and reliability tests to understand, and improve the performance
• Electrochemical tests skills such current, voltage, CV, impedance, GITT
• Knowledge and test skills of SEM, XRD, Particle size determination

Qualifications

• MS in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field with focus on electrochemistry, material science or related field.
• Knowledge and understanding of lithium ion battery technologies including cathode material selection and synthesis, electrode fabrication, cell design, cell assembly, testing and failure mode analysis. Lithium Metal Battery experience is plus.
• Skills of testing coin and pouch cells
• Knowledge of Cathode Material Mass Production Experience is plus
• Knowledge of solid electrolyte material thermal processing and experience with solid state battery development is plus.
• The candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and must be able to design and conduct complex experiments, employing DOE approach to interpret and correlate experimental results with battery product performance.

As a Process Integration Engineer (Process focus), you will bring extensive expertise to lead process develop and optimization projects and provide marketing information / advanced technical solutions in collaboration with BU R&D and technology development teams. This role will influence both customer satisfaction and internal technology advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and optimize the integration of product processes, ensuring compatibility and performance across process modules and hardware systems;
• Collaborate with Global BU/SU teams to drive new product introduction and enhance the stability of mass production for both process and hardware;
• Support full product lifecycle management, including process integration, mass production support, continuous improvement, and end-of-life technical optimization;
• Lead and conduct DOE experiments, data analysis, and troubleshooting for process and hardware-related issues, ensuring timely project delivery;
• Monitor and analyze market and competitor trends in process and hardware technologies, providing recommendations for improvement;
• Prepare technical documentation, process specifications, and reports; participate in technical exchanges and customer support;
• Communicate closely with global BU/SU teams and local customers to ensure product and process/hardware solutions meet customer requirements.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree or above in Microelectronics, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related fields;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment / process integration, with solid knowledge of mainstream process modules (ALD / CVD preferred) and related hardware systems; Solid knowledge of advanced logic/memory device integration is a plus.
• Experience in new processes and/or equipment development and optimization.
• Strong cross-functional communication and project execution skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English (Korea is a plus), able to read technical documents.
• Experience in customer technical support or project management is a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.

• Resolve customer issues. Find containments fast, then drive structural solution and implementation.
• Responsible for IQ performance and improvement of released products.

• Support customer SiC CVD hardware development (both new development and CIP - continuous improvement projects)

• Maintain and enhances procedures and documents checklists and best-known methods for service, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Travel

Education

• Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline
• 5-10 years of related experience
• Native Chinese and fluent English in speaking and writing

Requirements Knowledge

• 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry including deposition experience in EPI, ALD, PEALD, and/or SiC 5 years’ experience with ASM specific toolsets is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (I.e. Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering)
• Very highly skilled in electrical and mechanical techniques and overall equipment system knowledge (HW / SW, Process)
• Utilize logical troubleshooting methodologies to diagnose problems
• Strong knowledge of Semiconductor disciplines, such as vacuum techniques, robot controllers, PLCs, mechanical and pneumatic valves, and statistical process control.
