Position Overview: 

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects from conception to completion. This includes full accountability for project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets, while ensuring alignment with customer-specific requirements for equipment installation (DIP) and related activities. This position requires your experience to be in the manufacturing/warehousing industries as this will oversee conveyance and racking system installations.  

Key Responsibilities:   

• Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage the project plan, including resource allocation and scheduling. Ensure all project tasks are completed on time and within budget. 

• Budget & Cost Management: Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to oversee project budgets and manage change orders as needed. 

• Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and implement solutions to ensure smooth project delivery. 

• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for high-level stakeholders, ensuring regular communication and reporting. 

• Team Leadership: Lead project teams, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious environment, and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols. 

• Project Management Expertise: Apply project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PPM) to ensure that projects are executed to global standards. 

• Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring that communications and project outcomes positively reflect the PAC Group brand. 

• Risk & Issue Management: Effectively manage project risks and issues, providing timely solutions and escalating as necessary. 

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members comply with safety policies and receive necessary training before project commencement. 

 Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). 
• 3-5 years of project management experience in manufacturing industry installation projects. 
• Experience with Racking and Conveyance installs REQUIRED
• Travel is 80% with travel in the U.S. and Canada paid for by PAC and home every other weekend if the project is going well
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred Certifications: CSCS Card, SMSTS, NA-OSHA 30, PPM/PRINCE2, PMP 
• Six Sigma/Lean Six Sigma certification. 
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Proficient in project and construction management methodologies. 
• Ability to interpret technical plans and specifications. 
• Strong client-facing skills, with experience engaging senior-level representatives. 
• Demonstrated resilience and crisis management abilities. 
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Vos responsabilités

• Développer et perfectionner des systèmes prototypes démontrant le contrôle actif d'écoulement sur des géométries pertinentes (par exemple, profils aérodynamiques, pales de turbine, surfaces de coque, diffuseurs).
• Traduire les concepts d'actionnement de surface à l'échelle du laboratoire en procédés évolutifs et industrialisables, adaptés aux environnements aérospatiaux et marins.
• Mener une découverte client précoce afin d'identifier les points de douleur urgents en matière de performance et d'efficacité dans les marchés cibles (équipementiers aéronautiques, énergie éolienne, défense navale, fabricants de drones, etc.).
• Collaborer avec l'équipe d'investissement de TandemLaunch pour élaborer la stratégie de mise en marché, valider les parcours réglementaires et de certification, et sécuriser les premiers clients ou partenaires pilotes.
• Recruter et diriger une équipe technique fondatrice composée de spécialistes en dynamique des fluides, d'ingénieurs en contrôle et d'experts en systèmes électromécaniques.

Profil recherché

• Expertise technique approfondie en mécanique des fluides, aérodynamique ou hydrodynamique, avec une expérience pratique du comportement de la couche limite et du contrôle des écoulements.
  • Doctorat ou maîtrise en génie aérospatial, génie mécanique, physique appliquée, génie électrique, mécanique appliquée ou domaines similaires.
• Connaissance des technologies de surface actives ou passives, telles que les actionneurs intelligents, les structures morphologiques ou la texturation de surface, ainsi que de leur effet sur la dynamique des écoulements.
• Expérience avec des outils expérimentaux ou computationnels : essais en soufflerie ou en bassin hydrodynamique, CFD, dynamique structurelle ou intégration de systèmes électromécaniques.
• Antécédents en recherche appliquée ou en développement de produits dans les systèmes aérospatiaux, les turbomachines, l'ingénierie navale ou des domaines connexes.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Founding Technical Entrepreneur to lead a startup in the space of active surface modulation for flow control. By dynamically influencing the boundary layer, these technologies can reduce drag, prevent flow separation, enhance lift, and improve the efficiency of fluid-interacting systems. Potential applications span commercial and military aircraft, UAVs, wind and jet turbines, naval vessels, marine propulsion systems, and spacecraft.

As the founding leader, you will identify the highest-value commercial entry points, develop prototype systems, and guide the technical roadmap from proof-of-concept to deployable, manufacturable solutions.

What You'll Do

• Develop and refine prototype systems demonstrating active flow control on relevant geometries (e.g., airfoils, turbine blades, hull surfaces, diffusers).
• Translate lab-scale surface actuation concepts into scalable, manufacturable processes suitable for aerospace and marine-grade environments.
• Conduct early customer discovery to identify urgent performance and efficiency pain points in target markets (aviation OEMs, wind energy, naval defense, UAV manufacturers, etc.).
• Collaborate with TandemLaunch's venture team to shape go-to-market strategy, validate regulatory and certification pathways, and secure early adopters or pilot partners.
• Recruit and lead a founding technical team of fluid dynamitists, controls engineers, and electromechanical systems specialists.

What We're Looking For

• Deep technical expertise in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, or hydrodynamics, with hands-on experience in boundary layer behavior and flow control.
• PhD or master’s in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or similar fields.
• Familiarity with active or passive surface technologies, such as smart actuators, morphing structures, or surface texturing and their effect on flow dynamics.
• Experience with experimental or computational tools: wind tunnel or water tunnel testing, CFD, structural dynamics, or electromechanical system integration.
• A track record of applied research or product development in aerospace systems, turbomachinery, naval engineering, or related fields.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: excited by uncertainty, motivated to move fast, and eager to build a company from scratch.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with technical experts, customers, and investors.
• (Optional but valuable) Prior startup, translational research, or defense/aerospace industry experience.
