REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience leading manufacturing test engineering.
• Expertise in Linux, C#, Python, and NixOS.
• Solid experience with PCBA/electronic assembly testing and knowledge of testing standards.
• Proficiency in using electronic test equipment.
• Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis of non-conforming hardware.

About the Role: On the Mission Engineering team at CHAOS, you will design, develop, execute, analyze, and validate models and simulations to deliver operational analysis and system performance assessment across defense, national security, and commercial programs. What You'll Do:

• Scope, plan, and execute modeling and simulation efforts and studies aligned to program objectives, managing your competing priorities and timelines effectively.
• Develop, configure, and execute analysis using mission-level models and simulations such as AFSIM, ESAMS, Brawler, Ansys STK, and/or physics-based models to evaluate system and platform performance in operationally relevant scenarios.
• Build and refine models of sensors, communications systems, aircraft (including unmanned), weapons, and spacecraft within mission-level simulation frameworks.
• Architect, implement, and validate models of both blue and red systems, sensors, communications, weapons, aircraft, spacecraft, and ground/maritime platforms, within mission- and engagement-level simulation frameworks.
• Define and apply rigorous statistical methodologies to simulation results to quantify measures of effectiveness and performance to produce relevant and defensible findings for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain Python-based analysis tools and pipelines for data processing, statistical analysis, and visualization.
• Implement technical methodology, simulation best practices, and customer engagement.
• Document methodology, assumptions, and findings in technical reports and briefing materials, including data visualizations, and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Aerospace/Software/Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting defense, intelligence, or advanced technology programs through industry or government employment.
• Demonstrated track record leading mission-level operations analysis studies and delivering decision-quality results to senior engineering and customer stakeholders.
• Extensive direct experience with combat simulations such as AFSIM, ESAMS, Brawler, Ansys STK, or equivalent, including ownership of rigorous methodology, not just execution.
• Significant experience developing analytical tools and applying rigorous statistical methods to interpret and present results.
• Strong proficiency in Python and MATLAB, including standard scientific computing libraries (such as Pandas, Polars, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn, CuPy, or PyTorch).
• Exceptional data visualization skills and comfort developing CONOPS/OV-1 visuals and briefing packages.
• Proficiency with software development practices including version control and leveraging/validating outputs of AI-assisted coding tools.

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Recognized expertise analyzing the full kill chain (find, fix, track, target, engage, assess) across multiple domains, including air-to-air, air-to-surface, surface-to-air, space, and electronic warfare engagements.
• Deep expertise in sensor performance analysis (especially radar) and in developing and validating models of sensors, communications, weapons, aircraft, spacecraft, or ground/maritime systems in mission-level simulation environments such as AFSIM or Ansys STK.

This is a foundational hire. You will have the freedom to move fast and set the standards for how CHAOS does quantitative analysis from day one.

What You'll Do:

• Design rigorous experimental constructs (DOE, space-filling designs, adaptive sampling, sequential experimentation) for large-scale simulation campaigns, getting maximum signal per simulation hour across operationally relevant trade spaces.
• Apply advanced statistical methods (such as regression modeling, Bayesian inference, surrogate/metamodeling, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty quantification, and beyond) to simulation output to produce decision-quality conclusions.
• Build and own scalable Python-based data pipelines for ingestion, processing, statistical analysis, and visualization of large simulation datasets.
• Develop ML and statistical surrogate models that accelerate analysis, enable real-time trade studies, and feed mission planning applications.
• Set team standards for data management, reproducibility, and statistical rigor (such as code review, methodology validation, and documentation practices).
• Translate operational and engineering questions into well-structured analytical approaches alongside M&S engineers, threat SMEs, and program staff. Push back when the framing is wrong.
• Author technical reports and briefing materials with clear, honest data visualizations; present quantitative results to senior technical and non-technical audiences in language they can act on.
• Mentor peers and cross-functional teams on experimental design, statistical methodology, and reproducible analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, a related quantitative field, or equivalent demonstrated expertise in modern statistical methodology.
• 7+ years applying advanced statistical and data science methods, ideally supporting defense, intelligence, or advanced technology programs.
• Deep working expertise in experimental design, regression and Bayesian methods, uncertainty quantification, and surrogate modeling, not just textbook familiarity.
• Strong proficiency working in Python, including scientific computing and ML libraries (especially Pandas, Polars, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, Statsmodels, PyMC, Matplotlib, Seaborn, CuPy, PyTorch), and exposure to MATLAB or R.
• Demonstrated experience building scalable analytical pipelines for large datasets, including comfort with terabyte-scale data and modern dataframe tooling.
• Exceptional data visualization skills and the ability to develop briefing-quality technical products.
• Strong software development practices: version control, code review, reproducible workflows, and informed use of AI-assisted coding tools.

• Direct experience applying statistical methods to outputs from military simulations including high fidelity engineering models, war games, and engagement or mission-level combat simulations such as AFSIM, ESAMS, Brawler, or Ansys STK.
• Expertise designing and analyzing large-scale Monte Carlo and DOE-driven simulation campaigns supporting full kill chain or system effectiveness assessment.
• Experience in developing surrogate models, simulations, machine learning, or artificial intelligence models for engineering and operations analysis applications.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a QSP modeling & simulation scientist to be part of the Nonclinical Development and Clinical Pharmacology (NDCP) organization. This position will be responsible for developing, validating, and executing modeling projects with a focus on mechanistic PBPK-QSP mathematical models for small molecule programs to increase mechanistic understanding of compound PK behavior and drug distribution, pharmacological effects on RAS targets, support clinical translation, and drive future discovery and development efforts.  As a Quantitative Systems Pharmacologist, you will:

• Develop, validate, execute, and refine quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) models, minimal physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models, semi-mechanistic PK/PD models, and tumor growth models to support development and discovery phase projects including next-generation inhibitor design and assessment of combination potential.

• Propose and perform in silico simulations to answer complex mechanistic questions, create data visualizations to effectively communicate modeling results to a wide-ranging audience, and devise strategies to improve model outputs.

• Survey the related literature to understand key physiological and biological processes, abstract the basic mechanistic elements, identify the relevant data, and summarize assumptions to be incorporated into existing or new PBPK-QSP models.

• Propose new mechanistic in vitro and in vivo experiments to test model assumptions and structure. Provide in silico support for preclinical translation including clinical efficacious doses/exposure projection, potential combination dosing regimens with other cancer therapeutics.

The Role 

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will own the mechanical test and qualification process for spacecraft components and vehicles from concept through execution and data analysis. This is a deeply mechanical role with elements of mechatronics, instrumentation, and software for data acquisition, with strong ownership over how our hardware is qualified for flight.  

You will design and build test fixtures and portable test racks, define test plans (qualification, acceptance, drop, load, vibration, deployment, etc.), execute tests, and analyze results to inform design and certification decisions. Rather than “pressing the button” on pre‑defined procedures, you will create new tests and infrastructure for new products in a fast‑moving space startup environment.  

Responsibilities 

• Own mechanical test and qualification activities for spacecraft components and vehicles, from requirements interpretation through test execution and reporting. 
• Develop test strategies and plans for qualification tests, acceptance tests, drop/load tests, deployment tests, and other space‑relevant environments.  
• Design, model, and document mechanical test fixtures, jigs, stands, and custom setups (e.g., for heat shield, mechanisms, and structural testing).  
• Architect and help implement portable test racks integrating power supplies, sensors, data acquisition, and control hardware into organized, reusable systems.  
• Define instrumentation approaches (load cells, strain gauges, displacement, pressure, temperature, etc.) and work with electrical teammates to integrate sensors and wiring.  
• Implement and/or specify data acquisition and control software using tools such as LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB for test automation and data collection.  
• Perform data reduction and analysis to extract key metrics, identify anomalies, and drive design or test configuration changes. 
• Create and maintain clear test documentation: test procedures, configuration drawings, calibration records, data packages, and test reports aligned with NASA‑style standards. 
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic circuit/connection diagrams to ensure correct test configuration and boundary conditions.  
• Collaborate closely with design, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure tests meaningfully qualify hardware and trace back to requirements.  
• Contribute to the development of internal test standards and best practices, leveraging NASA and industry qualification guidelines as the “test bible.” 
• Provide technical leadership on test approach and infrastructure (technical management), even if you do not directly manage people.  

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in hardware test development. 
• Strong, hands‑on mechanical background with experience designing and building test fixtures, stands, and mechanical setups for hardware tests.  
• Experience developing or significantly contributing to new tests for aerospace, space, or similarly high‑reliability hardware (not just operating existing, legacy rigs). 
• Familiarity with spacecraft or launch vehicle components, or other space/aviation hardware where qualification and reliability are critical.  
• Comfort working with sensors and instrumentation (wiring, basic electrical understanding) sufficient to own test setups without being an electrical engineer.  
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis using at least one of: LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.  
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings (and basic circuit diagrams) to set up tests correctly and understand what is being verified.  
• Demonstrated ownership of end‑to‑end test efforts: planning, setup, execution, troubleshooting, and reporting.  
• Strong documentation habits and familiarity with following structured standards and guidelines (e.g., NASA‑style test and qualification documents).  
• Willingness to be hands‑on in the lab, build things from scratch, and iterate quickly in a startup environment.  

We are less focused on minimum years of experience and more interested in candidates who have truly developed tests and infrastructure themselves, rather than only operating pre‑defined procedures at large, highly bureaucratic companies.  

Preferred Experience 

• Experience in space startups or new‑product aerospace programs (rockets, satellites, spacecraft mechanisms) where tests were created from scratch. 
• Prior work with portable test racks or integrated test benches combining power, DAQ, and control in a cohesive system.
• Familiarity with NASA test/qualification standards and ASME Y14.5 drawing conventions at a functional level.

This is a role for a veteran structural engineer who has expertise on full-scale flight vehicles whether launch vehicles, satellites, or re-entry capsules. Unlike traditional space vehicle roles where the structure simply needs to survive launch, you are designing for the round trip: launch vibration, the harsh vacuum of orbit, and the extreme thermal and mechanical loads of hypersonic re-entry and landing. You will own the structural architecture of the vehicle, moving rapidly from trade studies to detailed analysis, and finally to hands-on integration. We need someone with the deep intuition that comes from 15+ years of seeing hardware fly (and fail). 

Responsibilities 

• Structural Architect: Lead the mechanical design of the entire vehicle structure, including primary structure, interfaces to the deployable heatshield, secondary structures, and payload bay
• High-Fidelity Analysis: Perform and sign off on detailed hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS/FEMAP/NASTRAN). You will be the final check on stiffness, buckling, and thermal expansion compatibility.
• Drawing & GD&T: Create and approve high-quality manufacturing drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) to ensure parts fit the first time.
• Build & Test Leadership: "Get your hands dirty" leading the assembly of your designs. Own the structural test campaign (static load, random vibration, shock, and deployment testing) to qualify hardware for flight.
• Vendor & Partner Management: Work directly with machine shops, composite vendors, and external partners to resolve fabrication conflicts and ensure on-time delivery of precision parts.
• Mentorship: Elevate the team's standard of engineering rigor. Mentor junior engineers in design best practices, analysis methods, and First Principles thinking. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience minimum (15+ preferred) in the design and analysis of complex aerospace structures and mechanisms.
• Full-Vehicle Heritage: Proven track record working on full space vehicles or rockets (not just subsystems). You should have experience taking a primary structure from concept through PDR/CDR to flight.
• CAD Proficiency: Expert-level skill in Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or similar parametric modeling software.
• Analysis Expertise: Deep background in structural analysis (FEA) and classical hand calculations. You must trust your hand calcs before you trust the solver.
• Materials Knowledge: Extensive understanding of aerospace materials (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, composites) and their behavior in extreme thermal environments.
• Manufacturing Fluency: You understand the limits of manufacturing, CNC machining, sheet metal, welding, and composite layup, and you design for them.

The Role 

Outpost's vehicles are unlike anything in the market - reusable, fabric-shielded, paraglider-guided Earth-return spacecraft. We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Structures and Mechanism team who will design and build the test and qualification process for spacecraft components and vehicles - from concept through execution and data analysis. This is a deep mechanical role with elements of instrumentation and data acquisition, and strong ownership over how our hardware earns its right to fly. 

This role spans the full engineering lifecycle - design, analysis, drawing release, build support, and test. You'll work alongside an integrated team and have meaningful ownership of your hardware from day one.   

What You’ll Do  

• Design, model, and fabricate mechanical components and test fixtures for spacecraft assemblies, including heat shield, payload containment, parachute and paraglider systems, and primary and secondary structure.
• Select materials, fasteners, and mechanical interfaces that satisfy flight boundary conditions.
• Produce engineering drawings and documentation for in-house build or vendor fabrication.
• Iterate designs rapidly based on test outcomes and anomalies, build, test, learn, improve.

The Role 

The Principal Thermal Protection System Engineer (TPS) will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of the (TPS) for our Carryall reentry vehicle. This role sits at the intersection of high-temperature materials science, aerothermal analysis, and mechanical design. You will own the primary barrier that allows our vehicles to survive the extreme environments of reentry, turning the "impossible" physics of returning from orbit into a repeatable, reusable operation. 

You will work closely with engineering leadership and the mechanical engineering team, to architect a TPS that is robust enough to handle hypersonic heat fluxes and flexible enough to stow and deploy on orbit. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who is ready to take ownership of a flight-critical subsystem from design through to flight qualification. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead TPS Architecture: Define the TPS architecture and thermal protection strategy for the Carryall vehicle, selecting materials and material stack-ups that balance thermal performance, mass, and mechanical flexibility.
• Aerothermal Analysis: Perform and guide high-fidelity aeroheating analysis (CFD) and thermal response modeling to validate specifications and predict performance under reentry loads.
• Material Qualification: Lead the testing and characterization of flexible and rigid TPS materials, including arc-jet testing, radiant heat testing, and mechanical load testing.
• Design for Manufacturability: Oversee the transition from theoretical design to flight hardware, managing vendor relationships for TPS materials including fabrics, thermal barriers, and adhesives.
• Validation & Verification: Develop and support the verification plan for the TPS subsystem, ensuring all requirements are met prior to flight.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical roadmap for future scaled up re-entry vehicle generations 

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the development of thermal protection systems, hypersonic aerodynamics, or high-temperature structural materials.
• Deep understanding of heat transfer mechanisms (convection, radiation, conduction) specifically during atmospheric entry.
• Simulation expertise: Proficiency with thermal and ablation modeling tools (e.g., FIAT, CMA, Thermal Desktop, or custom solvers) and analysis software (ANSYS, MATLAB/Python).
• Hands-on experience with hardware testing, specifically environmental or arc-jet testing of TPS materials.
• Proven ability to manage complex trade studies involving mass, volume, and thermal performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex thermal risks to the broader engineering team.

Anduril’s Electrical Engineering Team is seeking a Wireless Systems Principal Engineer with a strong background in modulation/demodulation, forward error correction, multiple access, duplexing schemes used in wireless communications. In this role, you design, adapt, and optimize wireless communication waveforms for use by autonomous vehicles to communicate with each other and with human operators.  Familiarity with tradeoffs concerning performance, resiliency and range is necessary.  You will also work with embedded SW and FPGA engineers to optimize capability while maintaining the big picture mission and system view with an eye to both verification and validation of the end system. Additionally, you will guide the SW and FW engineers to develop SW/FW/HW to integrate wireless systems with autonomous vehicles and their controllers.  The preferred person for this role has a strong background in the effects of signal processing, communication systems architectures upon the users that rely upon them. Additionally, experience in providing technical approach to System Engineers, FPGA and SW engineers, and schedule status including work estimates and staff resource estimates to program management is preferred.  Substantial experience in the use of Matlab for waveform, network, and traffic design and simulation is highly preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Guide embedded SW engineers and FPGA engineers in trade studies, implementation and optimization of waveforms to the autonomous applications.

You will be responsible for authoring mission control procedures and processes, working with the engineering team to develop mission concept of operations and become familiar with Anduril’s ground software enterprise and orbital flight software system. This role will own rapidly developed, ruggedized electronics design in addition to scaling legacy design concepts to support full-rate production. In this role, you will partner with our Architecture and Product Management team to help drive system requirements prior to owning full PCB and/or electrical system design. This will require identifying high risk areas, creating and validating electronics designs for embedded compute and/or power systems, and testing for long term-reliability while considering manufacturability and testability in the design.

• Collaborate with design team to achieve reliability goals at a system level in context of concepts of operation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Self starter with the ability to design digital & analog electronics from concept and functional prototype, to production ready product.
• Ability to troubleshoot existing hardware to find root cause of issues and implement improvements to improve the design.
• Develop clear documentation to capture design requirements, specifications, test coverage, and test reports.
• Complete full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug, validation, characterization, and integration with the system.
