As Strategy & Operations Manager, you are responsible for driving efficient growth by providing data driven support in shaping and optimizing our global growth and marketing strategies. As part of our chief engineering team, you will lead and guide the system engineering activities: from requirements negotiation and validation with the customer to final system qualification and certification with the authorities.
Your core challenge is to ensure together with our world-leading AI software team that the developed software meets customer requirements whilst exceeding customer expectations.
Negotiate system requirements with our customer, derive high-level software requirements, and validate high-level software requirements in close collaboration with our software leads
Update traceability of system requirements to all software development artefacts and establish clear technical product baselines in close cooperation with configuration management
Conduct regular technical risks board meetings together with our software engineers. Jointly develop risk mitigation strategies and assess project impact
Ensure proper planning of all technical deliverables (together with the project manager), monitor technical implementation progress and guide the team into successful delivery
Lead the preparation of all technical documents, ensuring they meet compliance and certification standards. Authorize documents before delivery to customer

Possess deep expertise in developing embedded software for avionics systems in accordance with DO-178C and ARP4574B, spanning from initial requirements to software verification
Have successfully established relationships with civil or military aviation authorities and participated in formal panel meetings or Stages of Involvement (SOI)
Hold a degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field that provides a deep technical understanding of complex systems
Communicate complex technical results clearly and efficiently to both internal teams and external stakeholders
Experience in system engineering for avionics or electronic warfare system development from conceptual development to first flight

You'll develop senior engineers into leaders. We don't need someone who mentors juniors on the basics. We need someone who accelerates staff and senior engineers, who gives direct, actionable feedback that changes outcomes, and who grows the leadership capacity of the people around them.
You'll partner with the Engineering Director on pillar-level strategy. Where should we invest more? Where are we falling behind? What should we defund? You bring these opinions, backed by what you're seeing on the ground.
And you'll do all of this in an AI-first engineering culture. Every engineer has Claude Code with unlimited tokens and a sophisticated ecosystem of MCP servers, skills, and shared context. You'll push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted development, both personally and through how you set up your teams.
The most important thing: you need to be an exceptional people leader AND personally action-oriented. Not one or the other. We don't want managers who are great with people but distant from the product. And we don't want hands-on operators who neglect the leadership craft. Beyond that:
Product-minded, not process-minded. You understand what you're building and why. You have opinions about the product, not just how the team operates. You can challenge a product direction, spot a gap in the strategy, and make calls about what work matters most.
Operated at real scale with startup energy. You've likely spent time at companies operating at significant scale. You've seen what large distributed systems look like in production and what it takes to ship reliably in that environment. But you also have urgency, resourcefulness, and a bias toward action over discussion.
AI fluency. You're actively experimenting with AI-assisted development, forming opinions about how it changes the way teams build software, and pushing your teams to adopt new ways of working. This is table stakes for this role.
Technically credible. You don't need to be the deepest engineer in the room, but you can hold your own. You can review an architecture proposal and ask the right questions. You can spot when a team is over-engineering or under-investing. Engineers respect your technical judgment.
Communication. You can explain to leadership why a team needs more investment, align multiple stakeholders around a complex project, have a difficult performance conversation, and unblock an engineer on a gnarly problem, all in the same day.
Extreme autonomy. You partner with the Engineering Director on where the pillar needs to go next. You identify problems, form convictions, and act on them. If you're the kind of manager who waits for direction, this isn't the right role.
Critical thinking about the business. You understand what Intercom is optimising for and translate that into team-level decisions. Which work streams need investment? Where are we falling behind? What should we stop doing to go harder somewhere else?

You'll develop senior engineers into leaders. We don't need someone who mentors juniors on the basics. We need someone who accelerates staff and senior engineers, who gives direct, actionable feedback that changes outcomes, and who grows the leadership capacity of the people around them.
You'll partner with the Engineering Director on pillar-level strategy. Where should we invest more? Where are we falling behind? What should we defund? You bring these opinions, backed by what you're seeing on the ground.
And you'll do all of this in an AI-first engineering culture. Every engineer has Claude Code with unlimited tokens and a sophisticated ecosystem of MCP servers, skills, and shared context. You'll push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted development, both personally and through how you set up your teams.
The most important thing: you need to be an exceptional people leader AND personally action-oriented. Not one or the other. We don't want managers who are great with people but distant from the product. And we don't want hands-on operators who neglect the leadership craft. You build high-performing teams AND get personally stuck in to drive outcomes when it matters.
Beyond that:
Product-minded, not process-minded. You understand what you're building and why. You have opinions about the product, not just how the team operates. You can challenge a product direction, spot a gap in the strategy, and make calls about what work matters most.
Operated at real scale with startup energy. You've likely spent time at companies operating at significant scale. You've seen what large distributed systems look like in production and what it takes to ship reliably in that environment. But you also have urgency, resourcefulness, and a bias toward action over discussion.
AI fluency. You're actively experimenting with AI-assisted development, forming opinions about how it changes the way teams build software, and pushing your teams to adopt new ways of working. This is table stakes for this role.
Technically credible. You don't need to be the deepest engineer in the room, but you can hold your own. You can review an architecture proposal and ask the right questions. You can spot when a team is over-engineering or under-investing. Engineers respect your technical judgment.
Communication. You can explain to leadership why a team needs more investment, align multiple stakeholders around a complex project, have a difficult performance conversation, and unblock an engineer on a gnarly problem, all in the same day.
Extreme autonomy. You partner with the Engineering Director on where the pillar needs to go next. You identify problems, form convictions, and act on them. If you're the kind of manager who waits for direction, this isn't the right role.
Critical thinking about the business. You understand what Intercom is optimising for and translate that into team-level decisions. Which work streams need investment? Where are we falling behind? What should we stop doing to go harder somewhere else?

The Senior Manager of Application Security leads a global team responsible for embedding security into Miro’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)—from concept to code to customer impact. This team partners closely with product and engineering to proactively mitigate risk while accelerating developer velocity and innovation.The role focuses on enabling secure-by-default development through secure design support, automated tooling, vulnerability management, offensive testing, and developer engagement. It also plays a critical role in integrating security into Miro’s Discover, Define, Deliver product lifecycle and aligning with our AMPED Ways of Working (Analytics, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Design) and AMPED Operating Model. As Miro embraces AI-supported software development and explores Agentic AI workflows that empower engineers, product teams, and security teams alike, this role will contribute to adapting and securing those evolving working methods—ensuring that innovation and trust go hand in hand.
As Senior Manager of Application Security, you will define and operationalize Miro’s application security strategy in alignment with our industry-leading software development lifecycle and AMPED framework. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of application security engineers and offensive security specialists who work directly with developers, product teams, and platform engineering across multiple regions.
You will embed security into all phases of the product lifecycle—from early discovery and architecture threat modeling, to design reviews and secure delivery pipelines, and ongoing monitoring and testing post-release. Your team will also support Miro’s AI-driven development tooling and guide secure adoption of Agentic AI workflows, which enable both developers and security teams to collaborate more efficiently and proactively.
The role requires a pragmatic, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-moving environments and has a deep understanding of both software engineering and security, as well as a passion for empowering teams to build securely and autonomously.
