About the role...
We’re looking for a Software Engineer I to join our China team. In this role, you’ll build and ship features that drive user growth and deliver high-quality learning experiences to millions of learners in China. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers to create engaging, localized experiences tailored to this market.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a fast-moving, high-impact team focused on one of Duolingo’s most important growth regions. You’ll gain experience working across the stack (backend and client), running experiments, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve key metrics like daily active users (DAU).

- Mentor and guide team members on frameworks, methodologies related to data lakes, data normalization, dimension reduction, visualization, statistical models.
- Ensure Model training is security, compliance aware.
- Collaborate with cross-team members to understand the requirements ensuring the foundational models, knowledge captured aligns with the company’s overall AI strategy.

What you’ll do
You are the technical keystone through the entire sales cycle - pre and post sales. You will work closely with our Enterprise prospects and customers in Greater China region to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform. You will leverage your technical expertise in Cloudflare’s global distributed network and technology to find best-fit solutions for prospects, to train and onboard new customers via video-conference, in person, or through documentation, and to support the long-term success of the customer. As an expert on web/mobile security and performance, you are a trusted source for developing new firewall rules from log files, crafting performance caching and delivery strategies, and creating or repurposing internal tools and scripts for customers.
As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare. To aid your customers, you will work closely with every team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support. Your goal of customer success should drive you through the entire organization as you seek out and create scalable solutions for your customer’s needs.

Open Source Networking Software Engineer - ToR Switch / SmartNIC / DPU

Software has moved to play a central role in network technology. From outstanding routing implementations like Bird and FRR to overlay networking technology such as OVN/OVS and Cilium, from kernel with SwitchDev to userspace with DPDK, from P4 to OpenFlow, the relationship between network innovation and software continues to deepen. We are building teams to bring the very best open source networking software to market in a well integrated and opinionated stack that brings the latest hyperscaler innovation to end users and enterprise customers.
We work with networking silicon providers to optimize Ubuntu and related applications for their ASICs, boards and appliances. We aim to provide a complete open source stack for data center networking, from bare metal through virtualization, container and serverless, and also to address IoT networking systematically.
You will have a good chance of success if you are an outstanding software engineer, passionate about networking, with a special interest in the interface of hardware ASICs for acceleration and software for innovation and control. We value experience in open switch initiatives such as SoNIC and DENT, and upstream experience with components such as routing, kernel networking, eBPF, DNS, firewalls and load balancers. Our selection process is rigorous and requires work from the candidate as six to eight interviews over a period of months. - An exceptional academic track record
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path

- Understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space
- Fluency in C/C++ and at least one of Rust, Python or Golang

- Computer architecture knowledge of x86, ARM, and RISC-V

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the infrastructure construction of the company’s internal security operation platform SOC and subsequent security incident management, incident discovery, analysis, emergency response, etc.
- Responsible for general 0day vulnerability analysis, penetration analysis and intrusion detection, timely discovering security risks and taking effective protective measures.
- Responsible for penetration testing, confrontation drills, and assessment of various security products and defense capabilities in intranet, public network, and cloud environments.
- Responsible for risk asset management, automated response orchestration SOAR, tracking and traceability functions, vulnerability emergency response, etc.
- Responsible for the operation of SRC and follow-up of related vulnerability repairs.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- More than 1 year of experience in incident response, system security, network monitoring, vulnerability management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with best practices in security engineering, including network security, security operations, system security, and incident response.
- Proficiency in specialized technical areas such as intrusion detection, deception detection, digital forensics, malware analysis, and threat tracking.
- Ability to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, and knowledge of common techniques used by attackers and security defense measures.
- Familiarity with commonly used security monitoring, log analysis, and forensic tools, and the ability to effectively apply them in the investigation and analysis of security events.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python, Perl, or Bash, with experience in automating security tasks and tool development.
- Good communication and coordination skills, strong sense of ownership.
