About One Acre Fund - Kenya

One Acre Fund is a non-profit social enterprise that supplies financing and training to help smallholders grow their way out of hunger and build lasting pathways to prosperity. When farmers improve their harvests, they pull themselves out of poverty. They also start producing surplus food for their neighbors. When farmers prosper, they eradicate poverty and hunger in their communities.

One Acre Fund is growing quickly and we are proud to soon represent Africa’s largest network of smallholder farmers. By 2020, we will serve at least 1 million farm families - with more than 5 million people living in those families.  And the farmers we serve will produce enough surplus food to feed another 5 million of their neighbors.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. When millions of farmers speak with one voice, we can more effectively pursue collaboration together with government and the private sector to broaden our reach.

One Acre Fund began in Kenya and is now one of our largest and fastest-growing countries of operation. Our vision for 2030 is to end hunger in Kenya and provide a pathway to prosperity for every farm family in the nation. One Acre Fund Kenya is transitioning from a start-up to a mature operation – and we need additional high performing staff members to continue our strong growth trajectory. Working with our Kenya team presents the opportunity to build upon our strong operational foundations and explore new ways to impact our well-established network of hundreds of thousands of farm families.

We are growing quickly. In ten years, the Kenya program has grown to serve over 360,000+ farm families with more than 3,000+ full-time field staff. Our approach has won widespread validation, winning grants from The MasterCard Foundation and Gates Foundation.

Our work centers in the western region of Kenya and we have a pilot in Nyeri, Kenya. Our Kenya country office is located in Kakamega, Kenya.
