About this Social Worker – Short Breaks Service with Children with Disabilities role at Liquid Personnel
Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join Liverpool Council’s Short Breaks Service. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with experience supporting children with disabilities and their families. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, completing high-quality assessments, and working collaboratively with children, young people, families, and partner agencies to ensure children receive the right support and achieve positive outcomes.

What will your responsibilities be?
As a Social Worker within the Short Breaks Service, you will manage a complex and varied caseload, completing Short Break Assessments and Carer Assessments while ensuring arrangements are regularly reviewed with robust risk analysis. You will maintain accurate Care Plans and Reviews, undertake direct work with children and families, and provide effective support within relevant statutory frameworks.
You will use professional judgement, evidence-based practice, critical reflection, and analysis to inform complex decision-making. You will work closely with multi-agency partners, attend relevant forums, and contribute to safeguarding children through effective assessment, planning, and intervention. You will also prepare high-quality reports, maintain accurate case records, and support the continuous development of practice within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Hold a full UK license.
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
