Summary: As a Social Media Specialist you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing social content across all platforms. This role focuses on building strategic content calendars, identifying opportunities to maximize performance, and ensuring content supports brand priorities, product launches, and cultural moments. Working cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, Community, Production, and Analytics, you will help shape a social-first content strategy that drives engagement and business impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Content Planning & Strategy: Build and maintain weekly and monthly social content calendars, ensuring alignment with product launches, campaigns, business priorities, and key cultural moments. Recommend content formats and platform-specific strategies to maximize performance across social channels.
- Creative Collaboration: Contribute creative ideas during planning, including content formats and trends specific to video-first channels, and work closely with video editors and graphic designers, providing feedback throughout the creative process to ensure content is engaging, optimized for social, and aligned with the brand.
- Performance & Optimization: Partner with the Analytics team to review content performance, identify trends and key learnings, and continuously test new content formats, creative approaches, and publishing strategies to improve results.
- Video Optimization: Lead optimization of video formats (titles, thumbnails, tags, descriptions, lengths, hooks) tailored to platform algorithms
- Cross-functional Alignment: Liaise with Marketing, Creative, and PR to ensure all content plans across our social channels support wider campaigns.
- Testing & Experimentation: Drive A/B testing of formats (thumbnails, hooks, video lengths) to refine performance strategies.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of YouTube and Snapchat ecosystems, including algorithms, best practices, and analytics tools.
- Experience with video optimization techniques (metadata, thumbnails, content formatting).
- Comfortable working with data and analytics to extract insights and influence content planning.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to manage calendars well ahead of deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence creative and marketing teams.
- Passion for beauty, social storytelling, and video-first platforms.
- 5+ years of experience in content planning, channel management, or digital media, ideally with a focus on video.
