About this Senior Technician role at EnerMech
EnerMech is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Senior Technician to join our Lifting Solutions team in Trinidad & Tobago. This position is responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and testing of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
The successful candidate will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, supporting the development of workshop capabilities and promoting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the inspection, servicing, repair, and testing of workshop equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and in good order.
- Complete assigned work scopes within established timeframes and communicate any issues that may impact delivery.
- Work collaboratively with workshop personnel and other departments to support operational requirements.
- Uphold company standards, procedures, and quality expectations.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to apprentices and less experienced technicians.
- Support local site activities and field assignments as required.
- Conduct inspections on lifting equipment and, where appropriately qualified, perform MPI and NDT inspections.
- Promote continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance workshop efficiency and performance.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on equipment including, but not limited to:
- Winches
- Pumps and motors
- Valves and cylinders
- Hook blocks and hook balls
- Crane booms
- Hoses and pipework, including hot oil flushing activities.
Requirements
- Completed apprenticeship, formal technical qualification, or significant equivalent industry experience.
- Significant experience in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrable product knowledge across lifting and mechanical equipment.
- Experience working within the oil and gas, industrial, or energy sectors.
- Experience conducting lifting equipment inspections, MPI, and NDT activities.
- Valid driver's license.
