The Senior Product Owner I drives the product vision and strategy for finance technology products within the Finance Transformation team at CP Axtra. He or she ensures the team knows in accurate detail what to build, develops a deep understanding of finance processes (reporting, planning, close, controls) across Makro and Lotus's, builds close relationships with the CFO organization and key stakeholders, and defines the business strategy for the product. The PO should come from the Finance/business side.

Responsibilities:

1.Set an ambitious, clear product vision for finance platforms and data products, and communicate the story effectively to stakeholders and the team.

2.Own the end-to-end product strategy from inception, and determine business value once a solution enters production.

3.Build the product backlog, writing user stories and acceptance criteria together with the work-cell team.

4.Continuously develop the backlog, ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated, and prioritized.

5.Ensure customer-driven design considering finance user pain points and usability results, using domain knowledge to deliver a well-positioned product.

6.Approve each feature and provide valuable feedback to the team.

7.Drive sprint and release plans together with the Scrum Master.

8.Exercise a strong decision-making mandate from the executive/CFO group to own the product end-to-end.

9.Work with the Digital Solution Architect to build a modular, reusable solution that integrates with finance systems such as Oracle Fusion.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of relevant finance domains, products, and journeys (reporting, planning, close, AP/AR, controls).
  • Solid knowledge of finance and industry trends, user demands, and pain points to create a high-value product vision.
  • Comfortable with technology/IT to engage in discussion with the tech team and understand risks.
  • Experience in Agile development, with Product Owner (or similar) experience preferred; confident managing the backlog and using Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex messages and trade-offs.
  • Sufficient authority to make real-time decisions (should be an actual Product Manager).
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders - strong leadership skills.
  • Strong problem solver with the ability to lead the team to push the solution forward.
