About this Responsible Officer (Contract) role at ESR Group

Role Overview
To support business continuity and maintain robust regulatory oversight. ESR HKAM is seeking an experienced Responsible Officer (RO) on a 6+6 month contract basis to cover an interim replacement.
Key Responsibilities
Regulated Activities Oversight
- Serve as the Responsible Officer for SFC Type 4 (Advising on Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) regulated activities. Oversee corporate asset investment activities to ensure full adherence to SFC regulations, circulars and operational guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
- Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring against the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), SFC Codes and Guidelines, as well as internal governance policies.
- Provide support for regulatory reporting and respond to SFC inquiries on an ad-hoc basis.
Licensing & Regulatory Liaison
- Oversee the SFC licensing application, renewal and ongoing maintenance for the company, safeguarding seamless business operations and full regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Academic & Licensing
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or Business Management is preferred.
- Must hold an unconditional SFC Responsible Officer endorsement for Type 4 and Type 9 regulated activities (mandatory).
Professional Experience
- At least 3 years of licensing and regulatory compliance experience within asset management or relevant financial services; proven RO experience is highly preferred.
Professional Integrity
- Demonstrate a solid professional track record with high ethical standards; free from any adverse disciplinary records with the SFC or other regulatory authorities.
Language Skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English and fluent in Cantonese for daily and formal professional communication.
