We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality Windows-based desktop applications through comprehensive testing, process improvement, and quality assurance best practices. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in software quality engineering, desktop application testing, and defect management who are passionate about delivering reliable and user-friendly software solutions.

As a Quality Engineer, you will collaborate closely with development, product management, and support teams to validate application functionality, identify quality risks, and ensure software releases meet functional, performance, and usability expectations. You will be responsible for designing test strategies, executing comprehensive test plans, automating repetitive test scenarios where applicable, and driving continuous improvements in the overall quality engineering process.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience testing Windows desktop applications in Agile development environments.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for Windows desktop applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and exploratory testing across multiple software releases.
  • Validate desktop application functionality, user interface behavior, workflows, and system performance.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution using defect management tools.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing to maintain product stability across releases.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and release readiness activities.
  • Develop and maintain reusable test documentation, test data, and quality reports.
  • Support test automation initiatives by identifying suitable automation opportunities and improving testing efficiency.
  • Validate application compatibility across supported Windows operating systems and environments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes, testing standards, and release practices.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for production issues and recommend preventive quality measures.
  • Ensure software releases comply with established quality standards and customer expectations.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience testing Windows desktop applications.
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile development practices.
  • Experience creating detailed test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
  • Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of automation testing tools and scripting is an added advantage.
  • Experience validating application performance, stability, installation, and upgrade scenarios on Windows environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
