Job Summary
The Permit Technician is responsible for securing, tracking, and managing all permits required for residential construction and remodeling projects within assigned markets. This role partners closely with municipalities, homeowners, Project Coordinators, Field Managers, and internal departments to ensure projects remain compliant with local regulations while supporting timely installations and an exceptional customer experience.

Basic Functions of this Position
Submit, track, and maintain all building, electrical, plumbing, and related permit applications for active projects within assigned markets.
Serve as the primary liaison with city and county permitting offices to ensure timely permit processing and resolution of permit-related issues.
Maintain accurate permit records, expiration dates, inspection schedules, and project documentation within company CRM systems.
Partner with Project Coordinators, Field Managers, and leadership to provide timely permit status updates, proactively communicate issues, and ensure projects remain on schedule.
Ensure all daily contractor registrations are completed and Home Depot waivers are processed promptly so permits can be pulled without delay and installation schedules remain on track.
Review project documentation to ensure permit applications are complete, accurate, and compliant with local jurisdiction requirements.
Coordinate inspection scheduling and follow up to confirm approvals and project readiness.
Maintain a high level of organization while managing multiple projects, municipalities, and deadlines.
Support continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline permitting workflows.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Production operations.
Qualifications
To effectively perform the duties of this position, individuals must demonstrate the following competencies:
Previous experience processing permits within construction, remodeling, or a related industry preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Familiarity with municipal permitting processes, particularly within Texas and surrounding markets, is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience using CRM platforms such as Lead Perfection or Salesforce is a plus.
Computer Skills
To perform this role successfully, candidates should have experience with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn business applications including:

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based but requires occasional travel to support business needs.
Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing administrative work.
Occasional standing and walking throughout the office.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Occasional travel to municipal permitting offices or project sites.

Work Schedule
This position typically follows a Monday through Friday schedule consisting of eight-hour workdays, excluding lunch periods.
Occasional overtime, weekend work, or holiday availability may be required based on project timelines and business needs.
Job Classification
This position is non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation and benefits are administered in accordance with Statewide Remodeling and Renuity policies.
