Job Summary : We are seeking an innovative, student-centered, and experienced MYP Design Facilitator to inspire learners through inquiry-based and project-based learning. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving while guiding students through the Design Cycle in accordance with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme philosophy.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging MYP Design lessons aligned with the IB Design curriculum.
- Facilitate inquiry-driven learning experiences that encourage innovation, creativity, and independent thinking.
- Guide students through the Design Cycle: Inquiring and Analyzing, Developing Ideas, Creating the Solution, and Evaluating.
- Integrate digital technologies, coding, robotics, engineering concepts, and design thinking where appropriate.
- Develop interdisciplinary learning experiences in collaboration with other subject teachers.
- Assess student learning using MYP assessment criteria and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare reports as required.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and well-organized learning environment that promotes experimentation and collaboration.
- Encourage students to develop practical, technical, and problem-solving skills through hands-on projects.
- Participate in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Support exhibitions, showcases, innovation fairs, and other student-led initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Technology, Product Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education (preferred).
- IB MYP training or certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school.
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP Design framework and assessment practices.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of the MYP Design curriculum and Design Cycle.
- Proficiency in digital design tools, prototyping, and emerging educational technologies.
- Experience with coding, robotics, 3D design, laser cutting, or maker-space environments is an advantage.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
- Passion for innovation, creativity, and experiential learning.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and the IB learner profile.
Preferred Experience
- Experience integrating STEM/STEAM methodologies into classroom practice.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital assessment platforms.
- Experience mentoring students for design competitions, exhibitions, or innovation projects.
