ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting role which is an integral part of the UK, Ireland & Middle East Disputes practice. The BD Executive will, together with Disputes BD team, provide support on marketing and business development activity across the Disputes division, which also includes our Litigation & Arbitration and Regulatory & Investigations practice. The role will be focused on delivering strategic objectives in relation to campaigns, events, sponsorship management, directory submissions, thought leadership, client relationship management and client targeting.
The role is a fixed term contract (15 months maternity cover) and operates in a hybrid working model (2 days/week required in the office)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Profile Raising
- Prepare award entries, legal directory submissions, and explore profile-raising opportunities.
- Maintain and update website and social media content with the Communications team.
- Ensure all materials follow brand and visual identity guidelines.
Winning Work
- Support the production of proposals (content creation, editing, team coordination, branding, and pricing compliance).
- Collaborate with the Senior BD Manager to develop high-quality proposal materials and ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
- Act as a proposal process ambassador and ensure proposals are logged and outcomes tracked.
- Conduct research on organisations, sectors, and individuals.
Events and sponsorship management
- Assist in planning and executing client events (in-person and virtual).
- Draft invitations, manage logistics, and create targeted mailing lists.
- Leverage sponsorships for client engagement and manage post-event follow-ups, including ROI tracking
Campaign Management
- Support the development and delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Draft and design marketing content for internal and external use.
- Work with the Digital Marketing team for online rollout, ensuring brand compliance and tracking ROI.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
o Working with legal and/or professional services environment
o Broad Marketing and organisational experience
o Experience managing the legal directories process preferable
- Education: Graduate calibre with demonstrable and/or professionally recognised marketing or communications qualification (such as CIM, etc.)
- Soft Skills:
o Strong written and oral communication skills
o Good attention to detail
o Understands the need and has the ability to manage expectations
o Willingness to take on additional responsibility and deputise for their line manager when required
- Technical Skills:
o working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Leadership:
o Builds trust amongst fee earning teams and wider stakeholder community
o Understands when to act and when to ask
