About this HVAC Maintenance Technician role at Howard Air
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems in residential properties. You will work with advanced diagnostic tools and ensure all systems operate at peak efficiency, delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems: Execute the full range of HVAC services, ensuring systems function optimally.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Use your problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix HVAC system problems efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance: Conduct regular system checks and preventive maintenance to keep systems in top condition.
- Customer interaction: Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Compliance and safety: Adhere to all safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of a relevant HVAC training program or apprenticeship is helpful.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC technician.
- Licenses: Valid HVAC technician license and driver’s license.
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights; physical stamina and dexterity.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) license through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) once hired.

- Must be willing to undergo a background check, drug screen, physical, and lift test (must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs).

Work Environment:
Work in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces. Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds. Operates hand and power tools and vehicles. Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members. Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust.
