HR & People Manager

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (DOE)

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm (Will consider 9am-3pm, Flexible as required)

What’s the role about?

As HR & People Manager, you will:

  • Take full ownership of the HR function in a standalone capacity
  • Partner with leadership to shape and deliver a forward-thinking people strategy
  • Lead recruitment, ensuring the business attracts and retains high-quality talent
  • Strengthen organisational culture, moving from reactive to proactive HR practices
  • Support leaders with people challenges, coaching them to build high-performing teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a clear people strategy aligned to business growth plans
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, from role scoping through to onboarding and induction
  • Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, and organisational design
  • Build and embed effective HR processes, policies, and compliance frameworks
  • Coach and develop managers to enhance leadership capability
  • Design and deliver learning and development initiatives across the business
  • Drive cultural evolution, embedding values and improving engagement

Requirements

About You

You’re someone who:

  • Has proven experience as a generalist HR professional, ideally in an SME environment
  • Is equally comfortable at strategic level and delivering hands-on HR support
  • Brings strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Has a track record of managing recruitment and improving quality of hires
  • Is commercially aware and understands the link between people and performance
  • Builds trust quickly, communicates effectively, and handles sensitive situations with confidence
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where you can make a real difference
