About this Head of Corporate Banking - Palestine role at Bank of Jordan
We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Corporate Banking to lead our corporate banking business and drive strategic growth across key market segments.
This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing business strategies, managing high-value client relationships, expanding the corporate portfolio, and delivering tailored financial solutions that support our clients' success while achieving the Bank's strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned banking professional with strong expertise in corporate lending, relationship management, business development, and credit risk management, combined with the ability to lead teams and create sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the department's strategic plan, annual objectives, business plans, and budget in alignment with the Bank's overall strategy.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Corporate Banking team to ensure high performance, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.
- Drive business growth across both assets and liabilities while maintaining a balanced risk profile.
- Oversee market research and economic analysis to identify business opportunities, assess industry trends, and support informed credit and business decisions.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key corporate clients and financial institutions while ensuring outstanding customer experience across all service channels.
- Develop client engagement strategies and promote value-added banking solutions, including:
- Warehousing Finance
- Receivables Finance
- Supply Chain Finance
- Cash Management Solutions (Sweeping, Aggregation, MT940, and related services)
- Lead new business acquisition initiatives by identifying prospective corporate clients, assessing their banking needs, and recommending appropriate financing and banking solutions.
- Promote Treasury and Financial Markets products, including foreign exchange and hedging solutions such as Swaps, Options, and Derivatives, to enhance customer value and increase product penetration.
- Conduct and oversee regular client visits, maintain strong executive-level relationships, and identify opportunities for portfolio expansion.
- Review and evaluate corporate credit applications, ensuring comprehensive financial analysis, compliance with credit policies, complete documentation, and sound credit recommendations before submission to Credit Management.
- Monitor business performance across the department through performance analysis, management reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maximize cross-selling opportunities by coordinating with Trade Finance, Treasury, Cash Management, and other business units to deliver integrated banking solutions.
- Monitor the quality and performance of the corporate credit portfolio, assess potential risks, ensure optimal utilization of approved facilities, and escalate material issues when necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to Relationship Managers and Unit Managers in business development, relationship management, and product sales.
- Lead and oversee strategic initiatives and transformation projects related to business development, ensuring timely execution and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Prepare and present periodic performance reports to senior management.
- Ensure all operations comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, delegated authorities, and governance standards.
- Review internal and external audit findings and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master's degree and/or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in corporate banking and corporate credit, including at least 5 years in a managerial leadership role.
- Strong experience in managing relationships with large corporates, commercial groups, and major economic enterprises is highly preferred.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
- Strong understanding of corporate banking products and services.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and lending practices.
- Sound knowledge of banking regulations, policies, governance, and risk management.
- Good understanding of market sectors, economic trends, and the banking industry.
- Proficiency in banking systems and Microsoft Office applications.
