If you're looking for a place where your ideas matter, where innovation is celebrated, and where you can help shape a brighter financial future, join us at Netwealth.

The Opportunity

This is one of the most important technology leadership roles at Netwealth.

We're creating a brand-new Platform, Reliability and Quality function that brings together Cloud & Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, Developer Platform, Quality Engineering, Environment Management and Release Management under one leader. Your mission is simple but ambitious: build the platform, tooling and automation that enable our engineers to deliver more value, faster and with greater confidence.

Reporting to the CTO, you'll lead a major transformation in how software is built and run at Netwealth. You'll treat the platform as a product, with engineers as your customers, creating a self-service engineering experience that embeds quality, accelerates delivery and makes the secure path the easy path.

This isn't a traditional infrastructure role or a cloud migration program. It's an opportunity to build a capability we don't have today. One that fundamentally changes engineering productivity and reliability across the organisation.

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and lead the new Platform, Reliability and Quality function, bringing three teams together under a single operating model

  • Define and execute the strategy across cloud, infrastructure, SRE, CI/CD, developer experience and quality engineering

  • Build an internal developer platform that enables teams to self-serve and move faster

  • Drive automation, standardisation and engineering efficiency across Technology

  • Lead secure-by-default and quality-by-default engineering practices

  • Own platform reliability, cloud economics and operational resilience

  • Build and develop a high-performing team of engineering leaders and specialists

Success in this role means creating an environment where the journey from code complete to production becomes measured in hours, not days or weeks.

About You

You're a technology leader who has built platforms, not just operated them.

You understand that high-performing engineering organisations scale through automation, tooling, developer experience and modern ways of working, not simply by adding more engineers. You know how to create the conditions that enable teams to move quickly without compromising reliability, security or quality.

You've led large technology functions, delivered meaningful transformation, and successfully influenced senior stakeholders across engineering and business teams. You're equally comfortable discussing platform architecture, coaching leaders, managing budgets and driving strategic change.

You'll bring:

  • Experience leading platform, infrastructure, cloud, reliability or engineering enablement functions

  • Proven success as a leader of leaders, delivering outcomes through high-performing teams

  • Deep expertise across cloud, infrastructure, containers, networking, CI/CD and developer tooling

  • Strong understanding of SRE, observability, resilience and platform operations at scale

  • Experience building internal developer platforms and self-service engineering capabilities

  • A track record of embedding quality engineering, automation and modern delivery practices

  • Strong commercial acumen, including platform economics and cloud cost management

  • The ability to influence across executive, business and technology stakeholders
