Requirements
Purpose of the role:
To Contribute to making the Westfalia Africa Finance Team successful in a high performance and driven environment through providing high level, proactive financial accounting and financial reporting services including general journals, reconciliations, internal controls and generating various reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly General journals as allocated by the accountant to be passed and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reconciling items are timeously followed up.
- Month end TB is submitted to Senior financial accountant and Financial Manager for review
- Meet month end procedures and deadlines,
- Assist with various reports and information as directed by the senior accountants.
- Assist with fixed Asset Management, ensuring that the fixed assets are duly agreed to the general ledger, assets recorded are complete and can be verified
- Ensure intercompany confirmations are sent out and balanced monthly
- Monthly preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Other ad hoc requirements as and when requested by Senior staff
Education:
- Minimum of National Diploma in Financial Management or equivalent qualification
Experience:
- At least 2-3 years’ experience of working in an accounts department
- Experience with audits, both internal and external
