An established multinational chemical manufacturing company is seeking an Operations Engineer to support business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational coordination. This is an excellent opportunity to transition into a commercially focused role while leveraging your technical or plant manufacturing knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and annual budgets, forecasts, P&L projections, and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
- Analyse operational and financial performance, providing meaningful insights to management.
- Coordinate monthly management reporting and business performance reviews.
- Compile, analyse, and maintain historical operational and financial data for planning purposes.
- Prepare Board papers, management reports, and presentation materials for senior leadership.
- Monitor supply planning and pricing information to support production planning and cost optimisation.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with operations, commercial, finance, and corporate teams.
- Liaise with government agencies, external partners, and internal stakeholders on business planning and coordination matters.
- Drive continuous process improvements by leveraging digital solutions and AI tools to enhance reporting efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Support ad-hoc business planning and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in chemical operations with strong analytical skills interested in moving into a planning, budgeting, and business coordination role.
- Finance or Accounting professionals with at least 2 years of experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis within a chemical manufacturing plant environment are welcome to apply.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, or business planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems will be advantageous.
