Salary: PHP 75,000 to PHP 85,000 per month (depending on skills and experience)
Working Hours & Conditions: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM AEST
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced CPA Bookkeeper to join the team in a remote support capacity. This role is suited to a qualified, detail-driven bookkeeping professional who can manage the firm’s day-to-day financial operations independently, including law firm trust accounting, general ledger maintenance, and reporting. You will work closely with Katherine and the wider team to ensure the practice’s finances are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for the firm, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Perform bank and trust account reconciliations on a regular basis
- Maintain compliant law firm trust accounting records in line with NSW legal trust account regulations
- Process billing, disbursements, and client invoicing accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate financial records in Xero
- Support preparation of BAS, payroll, and other statutory obligations
- Prepare monthly financial reports for internal review
- Liaise with the supervising solicitor and external accountant when clarification is needed
- Maintain clean, organised, and audit-ready financial records at all times
- Proactively flag discrepancies, delays, or compliance risks without waiting to be chased
Requirements
REQUIRED:
- CPA qualification (or equivalent recognised accounting certification) required
- Proficiency in Xero is required
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably within a professional services or legal environment
- Experience with law firm trust accounting is highly valued
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
- Strong working knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, and general compliance requirements
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial records
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently, with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS (nice to have)
- Prior experience working within an Australian law firm or professional services firm
- Familiarity with legal practice management software (e.g., Smokeball)
- Exposure to payroll processing under Australian payroll regulations
- Experience working in a remote or offshore support capacity for an Australian firm
