Associate Engineering Manager - Consumer Wealth Domain
About Satispay
Satispay began by rethinking the simple act of a payment to remove the friction from our daily routines. But we didn’t stop there. Today, we are building a complete financial platform designed to empower people and concretely improve their lives. By giving our 6 million users a clear, open path to pay, save, and invest, we are evolving into the definitive destination for every financial need.
What you’ll be doing
As an Associate Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how millions of users save, invest, and grow their money. Moving beyond individual contributions, your primary focus will be on team success, delivery, and people growth. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
Lead and grow a Consumer-oriented team: Own the day-to-day management of a squad of 3-5 engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring high team morale.
People Management & Mentorship: Actively invest in the growth of your team members through regular 1:1s, actionable feedback, performance reviews, and identifying stretch opportunities to help them advance their careers.
Drive delivery and technical execution: Translate product and business goals into a clear, predictable technical roadmap. Optimize agile workflows, unblock your team, and ensure reliable execution of ambitious projects.
Collaborate across domains: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineering Managers to align on priorities, manage dependencies, and define shared engineering standards.
Report up and communicate clearly: Keep leadership informed on team progress, risks, and blockers, effectively translating technical complexities into business-relevant terms.
Expect challenges, collaboration, and the freedom to bring your ideas to life. Things change quickly here, so be ready to adapt, take initiative, and shape your role as we grow.
While you won't be coding day-to-day, your technical background will be crucial to partner with your Senior and Staff Engineers, facilitating architectural discussions and ensuring the right technical decisions are made. Our tech stack includes PostgreSQL, Java, and Spring Boot, relying on AWS for infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, AWS Lambda, Kinesis, ElasticSearch). Together with your senior technical leads, you will ensure the team's technical health while taking ownership of end-to-end deliverables
Who we’re looking for
We need a servant-leader who loves building high-performing teams and gets things done. If you're passionate about guiding engineers and ready for real ownership, you'll fit right in! Does this sound like you?
Engineering Leadership Experience: 5+ years in backend engineering, with at least 2+ years managing a squad in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
People-First Mindset: Strong empathy and coaching skills, with a proven track record of mentoring engineers and fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
Backend Expertise & Cloud Architecture: Strong command of distributed systems and API design. You know what good looks like and can guide your team in building robust, scalable services in a high-growth or regulated industry.
Proven Delivery Ownership: Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end delivery of complex features. Experience with Agile methodologies and using metrics to improve team velocity and quality.
Clear and Effective Communication (English): Comfortable engaging with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders; able to represent your team's work to leadership and translate business needs into technical direction.
Passion for Fintech and Investment Products: Genuine interest in how technology is reshaping the way people manage their money, with an appreciation for the responsibility that comes with building in a regulated, high-trust environment.
Don't worry if you don't tick every box. We believe in the power of different viewpoints and strengths. Your unique perspective is important as we build something special. If you're passionate and can make a difference, we truly encourage you to apply.
