About the role
You will own the vision, priorities, governance and leadership alignment for the AI function. You set the roadmap, keep delivery well-governed and value-focused, and act as the single senior point of accountability to executive sponsors — translating enterprise ambition into a prioritized portfolio delivered from India.
Key responsibilities artificial intelligence
- Set priorities & roadmap — define and own the AI strategy, priorities and 12–24 month roadmap, aligned to business goals and the global AI agenda.
- Own governance & reporting — establish and run portfolio governance, responsible-AI guardrails, risk and compliance, and executive value/ROI reporting.
- Align with leadership — act as the primary interface to executive sponsors and global stakeholders; secure funding, manage expectations and report progress, risk and value.
- Build and lead the team (Engineer, PMO Lead, AI Support and delivery pods); own org design, hiring, capacity planning and retention.
- Own build/buy/partner decisions, the AI budget, and cloud and vendor relationships.
- Drive use-case prioritization and value realization; remove blockers across legal, security, procurement and infrastructure.
- Champion an AI-literate culture and responsible adoption across the organization.
Requirements
Required qualifications
- Minimum 12+ years' experience across data / AI / engineering, with 4+ years leading and scaling technical teams.
- Track record of taking AI / ML / GenAI solutions to production at enterprise scale.
- Strong governance, risk and stakeholder-management skills with executive audiences.
- Deep, current understanding of the GenAI, agentic and ML landscape.
- Experience owning a portfolio, budget and roadmap.
Preferred or Desired Experience (nice to have)
- Experience building or scaling an offshore / GCC / captive centre.
- Sector domain depth (e.g. BFSI, healthcare, retail, manufacturing).
- Advanced degree in CS / ML / engineering or an MBA.
Education/experience lending itself to demonstrate strong commercial acumen:
- Minimum Post Graduation degree / MBA or equivalent professional course certification
- Advanced degree in CS / ML / Engineering
