An Administrative Services Manager job is available with the City of Fort Worth Fire Department. This position will be located at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex, 505 W. Felix St. Fort Worth, TX 76115.Β This role will lead initiatives primarily in the areas of Budget, Grants, Human Resources (HR), and Capital Projects.Β A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work with both civilian and civil service personnel are essential. This position requires the capacity to work independently and in a team environment, while building effective working relationships across departments. The Administrative Services Manager reports directly to the Assistant Fire Director and oversees a team of 7-9 employees responsible for daily administrative functions.Β Β Β Β
The Administrative Services Manager job responsibilities include:
- Management of a $300 million combined Fire and Emergency Management Services (EMS) budget, focusing on budget development, monthly forecasting, revenue, invoicing.
- Oversee specific programs such as special donations, deployments, LEOSE (Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education funds), and Suburban Dispatching.
- Serves as Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) supporting HR functions such as, hiring, onboarding, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Workersβ Compensation compliance, and leave tracking.
- Provide oversight and strategic guidance on all grant-related projects ensuring timely and compliant financial documents and submissions.
- Provide transactional oversight of capital projects, including project set up, tracking and close-outs; also lead or support special projects as assigned, with a focus on data analytics related to budget, staffing, and capital planning.
- Assist with compiling financial and staffing data to support broader department operations and internal decision making.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masterβs Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Budgeting, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field
- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible and complex administrative, personnel, and management experience
- One year in a supervisory capacity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of concepts related to budget management, business planning, process improvement, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Experience in budget management
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word skills
- Experience with ERP Financials
- Knowledge of Grant policies and requirements
