This is a full-time temporary position approved through February 29, 2028, with continued employment based upon funding availability.

A Sr. Customer Service Representative job is available with The City of Fort Worth Water Department Customer Care Division in our Water Customer Relations Section.Β You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a professional manner and in a fast-paced environment.Β
Minimum Qualifications:Β Β Β
- High school diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of experience directly related to customer service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual, English/Spanish
- Experience with PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application and HTE/Sungard Utility Billing System or other similar billing software
- A minimum of one year of experience in a contact/call center environment, answering incoming phone calls from an ACD call management system
- Knowledge of contact/call center concepts, practices, procedures, and systems
- Knowledge of customer service practices and principles
- Excellent data entry and typing skills
- Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced contact/call center environment
The Sr. Call Center Customer Service Representative job responsibilities include:
- Provide customer service by responding to customer inquiries and service requests via phone, email, and in person; research, resolve, and follow up on issues related to utility billing, account setup and termination, payments, water consumption, and other utility services
- Assist residential, commercial, and contractor customers by providing accurate information and resolving issues in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
- Log, track, and document customer interactions in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring accurate account records and routing requests to the appropriate departments when necessary
- Resolve customer issues through effective one-contact resolution whenever possible while maintaining a high standard of customer service
- Create, maintain, and update customer utility accounts and related records
- Research utility service requests and determine applicable fees, including tap fees, impact fees, and other service-related charges; estimate and collect required fees
- Perform research, data analysis, and billing functions related to customer utility accounts
- Respond to inquiries regarding new water, wastewater, and stormwater utility services
- Interpret and explain city ordinances, utility policies, and procedures related to existing and proposed developments
- Review water, wastewater, grading, utility, site plans, and plats to support utility service requests and development projects
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, vendors, city staff, and the public through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
- Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance in all customer service and utility account processes
