About this Flight Assurance Engineer role at AST SpaceMobile

Position Overview
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented professional to join AST’s Flight Assurance team. This role will support documentation validation and compliance control activities for electronic equipment and space hardware manufactured in Barcelona and shipped to Texas for final satellite integration.
The successful candidate will act as the final checkpoint prior to shipment, ensuring that both hardware and documentation comply with established manufacturing, configuration management, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review production and quality documentation associated with flight hardware and electronic assemblies.
- Verify that PCB revisions, assemblies, and final equipment configurations match the approved manufacturing baseline.
- Ensure traceability between manufactured hardware, Bills of Materials (BOMs), serial numbers, and associated documentation.
- Confirm that all manufacturing, inspection, and testing activities have been properly recorded and approved.
- Verify that all required signatures and approvals are completed before hardware release.
- Collect and prepare all documentation required for shipment to the United States as part of the acceptance and documentation package.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve discrepancies or incomplete documentation.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records and document repositories.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and aerospace quality standards.
Qualifications
Education
- Vocational Training (Associate Degree or equivalent) in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electronic Systems, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic or space hardware.
- Knowledge of PCB assemblies, manufacturing revisions, and product configuration management.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Flight Assurance (FA) processes in regulated or high-reliability environments.
- Experience working with acceptance documentation or hardware release packages.
- Previous experience in quality, electronics, aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial environments is considered a plus.
Soft Skills
- Methodical, organized, and highly detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively with technical documentation and configuration control processes.
- Strong follow-up, coordination, and cross-functional communication skills.
Technology Stack
- Good level of technical English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
