About the role
Do you want to help realise next-generation quantum technologies in Europe? The Novo Nordisk Foundation is advancing strategic initiatives to turn frontier research into impactful solutions by developing end-to-end innovation value chains.
We are seeking a Senior Scientific Manager to drive the translation of quantum technologies into societal value. Areas of interest include biomedical quantum sensing applications, supporting the development of a commercial quantum computing supply chain, strengthening the innovation talent pipeline, and addressing barriers across academia, clinics, industry, and end users.
You will join the Foundation’s Innovation team, which creates value chains that transform research into real-world solutions. Our initiatives span entrepreneurial education, acceleration, scale-up infrastructure, and industry collaboration, including BioInnovation Institute, BetaHealth, Magne, Quantum Denmark and Gefion.
The Role
You will contribute to the scoping, development, and execution of strategic initiatives and lead community-building activities such as workshops and roundtables. You will act as a subject matter expert in translating quantum technologies into practical applications.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive translation of quantum technologies with biomedical and bioindustrial applications (e.g. cardiometabolic diseases, cell therapies)
- Support the establishment of a commercial quantum computing supply chain
- Strengthen the innovation talent pipeline in quantum technologies
- Identify and address barriers across academia, clinical practice, industry, and end users
- Develop analyses, reports, and strategic recommendations

- Deep tech entrepreneurship and talent development
- Ecosystem and innovation building in Denmark, the Nordics, and Europe
About You
You are proactive, structured, and able to manage multiple complex projects independently. You combine strong analytical skills with excellent stakeholder engagement and work in a collaborative fashion.
Qualifications:
- PhD in physics, engineering, or related field
- ~10+ years of relevant experience (including industry or entrepreneurship preferred)
- Experience with international research or innovation collaborations
- Strong knowledge of the quantum technology ecosystem
- Familiarity with AI, data science, or related deep tech is an advantage
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Professional proficiency in English
