About This Role:

Join Crusoe as a Wiring Technician and play an essential role in the precision assembly and wiring of critical control systems that power the future of sustainable computing. In this full-time role within our advanced manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and looming complex control panels, marshaling cabinets, and sub-assemblies according to engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and internal standards.

The ideal candidate is a meticulous, safety-conscious technician with a foundational understanding of electrical principles and a strong mechanical aptitude. You thrive in a collaborative shop environment where quality craft, attention to detail, and continuous learning directly translate into reliable, high-performance modular power and data infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Control Panel Assembly & Wiring: Execute mechanical layout, component mounting, and point-to-point wiring for industrial control panels and sub-panels in strict accordance with engineering schematics and assembly drawings.

  • Cable Preparation & Termination: Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate power and control wiring using appropriate ferrules, lugs, and tooling to ensure secure and reliable electrical connections.

  • Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and internal assembly standards (HPI) to execute accurate routing and component placement.

  • Harness Assembly & Looming: Bundle, route, lace, and loom wire harnesses cleanly and systematically according to internal standards to ensure field reliability and serviceability.

  • Component Mounting & Mechanical Fabrication: Perform drilling, tapping, fastening, and mounting of electrical and electronic components, sub-panels, din rails, and wire ducting using standard hand and power tools.

  • Identification & Labeling: Generate and apply legible, precise wire markers, component tags, and panel identification labels using electronic and handheld labeling equipment.

  • Field Device & Cabinet Integration: Mount and land field devices, terminating cables into junction boxes, marshaling cabinets, and instrumentation with proper strain relief and glanding.

  • Quality Assurance & Workmanship: Conduct visual and tactile inspections of completed panels, verifying wire routing, torque marks, ferrule crimps, and drawing compliance prior to inspection handoff.

  • Shop Safety & Floor Collaboration: Maintain an orderly 5S workspace, adhere to all PPE and safety requirements, monitor stock and material staging levels, and communicate drawing updates or process improvements proactively with production leads and engineers.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., or vocational training certificate in electrical systems, electronics, or industrial technology.

  • Experience: 0–2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/electronic assembly, control panel wiring, or as an apprentice electrician in a manufacturing or trade environment.

  • Schematic Literacy: Proven ability to read and follow electrical schematics, wiring run lists, connection diagrams, and mechanical assembly layouts.

  • Electrical Fundamentals: Solid foundational knowledge of AC/DC electrical principles, power versus control circuits, wire gauge sizing, and basic color coding conventions.

  • Tooling & Assembly Dexterity: Hands-on proficiency with wire strippers, mechanical crimpers, drill presses, hand drills, taps, torque drivers, and precision measuring tools.

  • Safety & Compliance: This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required, and candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

  • Physical & Operational Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of 8+ hours per day, maintain continuous manual dexterity and fine motor control, and lift or move materials up to 50 lbs.

Bonus Points:

  • Formal certificate or associate degree from an accredited electrical or mechatronics vocational program.

  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards or UL 508A industrial control panel standards.

  • Practical experience with electrical conduit bending, mounting, and cable tray routing.

  • Prior experience in a high-mix, high-volume lean manufacturing or modular data center production environment.

  • Ability to identify drafting errors and suggest redline drawing updates to engineering.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation and equity packages

  • Restricted Stock Units

  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs

  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance

  • Employer contributions to HSA account

  • Paid parental leave
