Knowledge Center India (KCI) is the central engine that drives the operational value for the firm. Established in 2004, KCI has evolved over the years from purely operational efficiencies into more value-added service offerings, becoming a true business partner. There are various teams based at KCI that work with Global Offices, Practice Groups, and the Management across all aspects of the firm's business life cycle. Requirements

Position Summary

The Wintel Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the organization's Windows infrastructure, Active Directory, Entra ID, Messaging, Virtualization, Cloud, Endpoint Management, and Security platforms. The role works closely with senior engineers and platform owners to ensure stable, secure, and compliant IT services across global environments.

The engineer is expected to demonstrate a strong operational mindset, contribute to automation initiatives, and continuously develop technical expertise across modern Microsoft technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Windows Infrastructure & Identity Services

• Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory environments.
• Manage user, group, computer, and organizational unit administration.
• Support DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
• Troubleshoot authentication, access, and directory-related issues.
• Support Microsoft Entra ID administration including:
• User and group management
• Dynamic groups
• MFA
• Single Sign-On (SSO)
• Conditional Access policy implementation
• Assist with Entra Connect and Hybrid Identity support.
• Support Specops password management operations.
• Perform Active Directory auditing and monitoring activities using Semperis tools.
• Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Services administration.

2. Windows Server Administration & Cloud Operations

• Build, configure, maintain, patch, and decommission Windows Servers.
• Support Windows Server operating systems and related infrastructure services.
• Perform routine operating system maintenance and security patch deployment.
• Troubleshoot server performance, availability, and operational issues.
• Support Azure infrastructure services including:
• Azure Virtual Machines
• Azure Backup
• Azure Storage
• Azure Monitoring
• Participate in cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
• Assist during disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.

3. Virtualization, VDI & Compute Platforms

• Administer VMware ESXi virtual environments hosted on Cisco UCS infrastructure.
• Support Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure and virtual machines.
• Provision and manage virtual servers according to operational requirements.
• Monitor resource utilization and optimize virtual environments.
• Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms including:
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops
• VMware Horizon
• Manage:
• Host Pools
• Golden Images
• FSLogix Profiles
• User Session Performance
• Troubleshoot virtual desktop and virtualization-related incidents.

4. Messaging & Collaboration Services

• Support Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises environments.
• Administer:
• Mailboxes
• Mail Flow
• Transport Rules
• Connectors
• Distribution Groups
• Shared Mailboxes
• Support retention and compliance policies.
• Perform email tracking and incident troubleshooting.
• Assist in mailbox migrations and messaging platform upgrades.
• Support email archiving platforms and monitoring activities.
• Support integrations with Templafy, JungleMail, and related messaging solutions.

5. Email Security & Protection

• Administer Proofpoint email security platforms.
• Monitor and respond to:
• TAP Alerts
• TRAP Alerts
• CLEAR Alerts
• Spam and Malware Events
• Support phishing investigations and email threat remediation activities.
• Maintain email security policies and monitoring configurations.
• Coordinate with vendors during issue resolution and escalations.

6. Endpoint & Security Management

• Support Microsoft Defender Application Control (WDAC) operations.
• Assist with application allow-listing and software control activities.
• Support BitLocker administration and encryption compliance.
• Assist with Microsoft Intune administration.
• Investigate and respond to security alerts generated through Microsoft Sentinel.
• Support endpoint compliance, security baselines, and hardening standards.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation activities.

7. Endpoint Management & Patch Administration

• Administer Microsoft SCCM platform operations.
• Support:
• Software Deployments
• Application Packaging
• Collections
• Reporting
• Operating System Maintenance
• Execute server and workstation patching activities.
• Support vulnerability assessment and penetration testing remediation efforts.
• Monitor and maintain patch compliance.

8. Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Administer AvePoint backup solutions for:
• Exchange Online
• Teams
• SharePoint
• OneDrive
• Support Azure Backup Server operations.
• Perform backup validation and restoration activities.
• Assist with disaster recovery tests and recovery exercises.
• Ensure backup jobs are completed successfully and address failures promptly.

9. Monitoring & Operational Support

• Monitor enterprise infrastructure using:
• SCOM
• Site24x7
• HPE OneView
• Azure Monitoring
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure alerts and incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring operational issues.
• Participate in on-call and major incident support activities.
• Maintain operational documentation and knowledge articles.

10. Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for operational activities.
• Automate repetitive administrative and reporting tasks.
• Support automation initiatives led by senior engineers.
• Utilize:

Experience Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in Windows Infrastructure, Messaging, Endpoint Management, or Cloud Operations.
• Experience supporting enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Working knowledge of Azure, virtualization, and VDI technologies.
• Experience supporting patching, monitoring, backup, and security processes.
• Demonstrated experience creating PowerShell scripts and automating operational tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and work within global operations teams.
