About the Opportunity
Sandvik is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Mount Isa. Reporting to the relevant operations leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and accurate supply of spare parts and materials to our customers.
As a key member of the team, you will lead warehouse personnel and drive operational excellence across all warehouse functions, including receiving, inventory management, cycle counting, dispatch, and pick-and-pack activities. You will play an important role in maintaining compliance with Sandvik warehousing and logistics procedures while delivering outstanding service to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Sandvik EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of warehouse employees, providing direction, guidance and support to achieve business objectives.
- Oversee all warehouse functions, including receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, dispatch, and pick-and-pack operations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of warehouse layouts and storage solutions to maximise efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with management, suppliers and customers.
- Monitor operational performance and prepare regular reports on productivity, KPIs, EHS performance and team development.
- Facilitate toolbox meetings, provide on-the-job training, and support the growth and development of team members.
- Prioritise daily workloads and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational targets and service requirements.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained across all warehouse activities.
- Lead and support warehouse improvement projects, process enhancements and succession planning initiatives.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring proven leadership experience within a warehouse, logistics or inventory environment, along with a strong understanding of operational processes and customer service excellence. You are a proactive and organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively balance competing priorities while delivering results.
You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and motivate teams to achieve high performance. Your ability to lead by example, solve problems and drive continuous improvement will be key to your success.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse, inventory or logistics operations.
- Strong leadership, organisational and time management skills.
- Well-developed customer relationship and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- A current driver's licence.
- Current LF (Forklift) and LO (Order Picker) licences.
- Qualifications in warehousing, inventory management, purchasing or supply chain management will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to the mining industry will be advantageous.
