Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for keeping the warehouse area organized. The role requires compacting packaging materials, moving cases, and driving a forklift to organize and sort pallets.
Job Description
Compacts packaging materials using a compactor.
Safely drives forklift to organize and sort pallets.
Loads materials onto trailers
Maintains excellent housekeeping levels of work area.
Breaks down cardboard totes.
Performs additional duties
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Forklift certification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Skills and Experience:
Language Skills: Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.
Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85 dB.
Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
Ability to operate work related equipment.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to manufacturing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, humidity, oils, smells and allergens.
Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
May need to climb to various heights via stairs.
