Job Description

This role provides independent Line 2 oversight of the Bank’s AI and data risks, ensuring effective enterprise-wide governance across the AI and data lifecycle through robust frameworks, policies and standards aligned to regulatory and ethical expectations. It delivers independent challenge, assurance and risk insights to senior management and the Board, while supporting responsible AI adoption and consistent application of Group standards.

Key Responsibilities

AI Assurance & Risk Oversight

• Support the development, implementation and continuous enhancement of the Group’s AI and data governance frameworks, policies and standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices and Responsible AI principles.
• Define and operationalise the enterprise AI use case inventory, establishing  clear governance, ownership and consistent understanding across all stakeholder groups.
• Perform independent Line 2 challenge and review of AI use cases and inventory submissions to ensure compliance with applicable AI risk management requirements.
• Assess adherence to AI governance requirements across the lifecycle, including risk identification, materiality assessment, control design and ongoing monitoring.
• Support monitoring, reporting and escalation of key AI risk metrics and governance outcomes to senior management and relevant committees/forums.
• Contribute to the operationalization of FEAT principles, including independent validations and challenge of e Fairness, Ethics, Accountability and Transparency requirements.
• Drive enterprise-wide AI risk awareness and adoption through structured training, briefings and stakeholder engagements.
• Champion responsible AI adoption, balancing effective risk management with business enablement and innovation.
• Coordinate regional forums to promote consistent interpretation and adoption of AI and data governance standards across the Group.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• Professional certifications in relevant domains are preferred, including but not limited to AI ethics/ Responsible AI / AI governance / Gen AI governance, Model risk management / quantitative risk

Job Requirements

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in AI governance, data governance, risk management or related disciplines, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of banking operating models, including risk governance structures and control frameworks (e.g. Three Lines of Defence).
• Demonstrated knowledge of Singapore AI regulatory and governance landscape (e.g. MAS, IMDA, PDPC, etc) and familiarity with global AI frameworks, e.g., EU AI Act.
• Proven ability to provide independent challenge and deliver practical, risk-based recommendations, consistent with a Line 2 oversight role.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions aligned with corporate values, professional ethics, and risk management principles.
• Hands-on experience in operationalizing governance frameworks, including implementation of policies, controls, monitoring mechanisms and reporting structures.
