In 2018, we began with a WhatsApp group with a simple hypothesis: people in tier-2/3 towns weren’t really using the internet meaningfully yet. We believed that if we started with local content in their own language, they’d come back every day; once there was a habit and trust, that same space could naturally grow into classifieds and, eventually, something they used for almost everything online.This spark became Lokal. Our first instinct was to put everything in one place & one app - local updates, classifieds, jobs, matrimony and more. It worked, till it stopped working. Users gave us the insight - when one use case outweighs the others, everything else seems like noise. We listened. Like how Craigslist quietly seeded a generation of focused companies & marketplaces, we began unbundling and verticalising.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly creative and proactive Graphic Designer & Video Editor to own the creative requirements for Lokal Jobs.This is not just an execution role. We need someone who can brainstorm, initiate ideas, and independently drive the creative direction across social media, performance marketing, product communication, and brand campaigns.

You should be equally comfortable designing banners, brochures, ads, social media creatives, and marketing collateral as you are creating reels, tutorial videos, promos, and product explainers.

While Lokal Jobs will be your primary focus, you should be flexible enough to support creative requirements across other Lokal products when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end creative requirements for Lokal Jobs across social media, performance marketing, and product marketing.
• Design banners, brochures, posters, social media posts, carousels, thumbnails, ads, and other marketing creatives.
• Create and edit reels, tutorial videos, promotional videos, product explainers, and performance ads.
• Proactively brainstorm and initiate social media ideas, campaigns, creative concepts, and new content formats rather than waiting for briefs.
• Take ownership from idea → concept → execution → iteration → final delivery.
• Create strong hooks, visual storytelling, motion, transitions, and sound design that drive attention and engagement.
• Stay updated on social trends, memes, pop culture, editing styles, and emerging creative formats.
• Use creative performance insights to continuously improve designs and videos.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and content teams while independently driving creative execution.
  
  
  

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in graphic/creative design, video editing, social media content, or digital marketing creatives.
• Strong portfolio showcasing both static designs and video content.
• Strong creative thinking, brainstorming, and visual storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Canva, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI creative tools is mandatory for image/video generation, design, ideation, and content creation.
• Ability to use AI to develop concepts, create variations, accelerate production, and improve creative output.
• Strong understanding of social media content, performance creatives, typography, layouts, visual hierarchy, motion, and sound.
• High ownership, initiative, and ability to work independently.
• Strong command of English and at least one regional/native language, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple Lokal products based on business priorities.
• Experience with performance marketing or consumer internet products is a plus.
• Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager, YouTube Analytics, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong awareness of Indian pop culture, regional trends, memes, and viral content is a plus.
• Experience building AI-assisted creative workflows is a plus.
