About the Role

We’re looking for a Video Game Developer to build, iterate, and maintain game projects using both Unity and Godot. You’ll work closely with designers and artists to turn creative concepts into polished gameplay systems, mechanics, and interactions while taking ownership of features from prototype through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Game Development

• Develop and maintain games using Unity (C#) and Godot (GDScript or C#).
• Write clean, maintainable code for stable and shippable builds.
• Work across multiple game projects as needed.

Feature Development

• Translate design concepts and creative direction into playable mechanics and systems.
• Take ownership of features from initial prototypes through polished implementation.
• Build gameplay interactions, systems, and supporting functionality.

Debugging & Optimization

• Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical debt.
• Optimize game systems and builds for target platforms.
• Investigate technical issues and deliver reliable fixes.

Technical Documentation

• Document game systems, scripts, and architecture decisions.
• Create clear documentation that allows other team members to understand and maintain your work.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with designers and artists to align technical implementation with creative direction.
• Communicate progress, technical decisions, and blockers clearly.
• Participate in focused team discussions and async collaboration.

Required Experience & Skills

• Hands-on professional or portfolio experience developing games in both Unity and Godot.
• Strong C# experience with Unity.
• Experience with GDScript or C# in Godot.
• Shipped games or strong portfolio projects demonstrating your development experience.
• Understanding of game architecture, including:
• State machines
• Component systems
• Scene management
• Input handling
• Ability to independently translate design requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience using Git and collaborative branching workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written English communication for technical discussions and documentation.

Typical Day

You’ll spend most of your day focused on active game development across one or more projects. You may build a new mechanic in Godot, review how it fits into existing systems, document your approach, or switch to a Unity project to investigate and fix a technical issue.

You’ll collaborate with designers and artists through written updates and focused check-ins while maintaining a strong focus on hands-on development.
