What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Business Analysis in New York, New York to utilize advanced data analysis techniques to assess, validate, and interpret regulatory and compliance-related datasets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards. Develop and optimize SQL-based analytical scripts and queries to streamline data collection, validation, and reporting processes, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Technology, QA, Product, Operations) to gather, analyze, and interpret regulatory inquiries and evolving compliance requirements. Conduct in-depth data investigations to identify anomalies, trends, data gaps, and potential compliance issues; partner with stakeholders on root-cause analysis and remediation plans. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, source-to-target mappings, test plans, and compliance artifacts. Work closely with technology and development teams to implement data enhancements, logic changes, and control improvements while ensuring compliance standards are met. Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements using Agile methodologies, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting screen mock-ups. Perform data gap analysis across source systems and downstream platforms; coordinate with cross-functional teams to bridge gaps through data transformation and enrichment. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure products are developed according to approved specifications and regulatory expectations. Conduct Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) validations and lead end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and business sign-off. Manage project-level execution plans, track milestones and dependencies, and proactively escalate risks or delivery delays to program leadership. Support audit readiness and regulatory reviews by ensuring data lineage, traceability, and testing evidence are well-documented and up to date. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field of study

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or a closely related occupation

- Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

·        Business Analysis and requirements gathering;

·        End to End process modelling;

·        Data Analysis and Querying using SQL;

·        Data modelling;

·        Systems integration analysis;

·        Reporting and metric design for management information;

·        Change Management and Client Enablement;

·        Financial Services in front office trading applications;

·        Compliance technology domain;

·        Regulatory Reporting;

·        Agile;

·        Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) concepts including snow schema, star schema, Hadoop, Oracle, and SQL Server;

·        Business Intelligence (BI)  analytics tooling including Business Objects, Tableau, Spotfire, and Cognos;

·        ETL concepts and tools including Informatica; and

end-to-end project implementation from inception to delivery.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $205,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
