Overview 

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Henderson, NV office.

Your role 

• Work on real client projects, gaining exposure to multiple stages of the project lifecycle and a variety of transportation planning assignments.
• Support transportation planning tasks that could include traffic modeling, data collection, safety analysis, public engagement, and multi-modal planning and design.
• Assist with the preparation of technical documentation, presentations, and project reports.
• Analyze and interpret transportation data to support project recommendations, planning discussions, and decision-making.
• Participate in project team meetings, brainstorming sessions, client meetings, and workshops.
• Support mapping, data visualization, and planning analyses used to communicate project findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with team members to develop innovative transportation solutions.
• Participate in training, mentorship and professional development opportunities to build technical, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

About you 

• EXPERIENCE:
  • Familiarity with mapping and transportation modeling tools, or data visualization software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest in transportation systems, mobility, roadway safety, public engagement, and community planning.
• EDUCATION:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks.

Additional information 

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
