The Trade Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that our company complies with all national and international trade regulations. Play a critical role in mitigating legal and financial risks associated with cross-border transactions and trade activities.
This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is part of the Supply Chain Department located in Pasir Gudang, Johor and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Stay informed about changes in trade regulations, tariff codes, and export/import laws.
- Interpret and communicate relevant regulations to internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of trade-related documentation, including import/export declarations and permits.
- Conduct risk assessments on trade activities to identify potential compliance issues.
- Collaborate with various departments such as logistics, finance, legal, and sales to ensure cross-functional understanding and compliance
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Experience in import/export and trade compliance, commodity controls, regulatory and security initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) is a plus.
- LMW, MIDA, SST and local custom regulatory requirements are necessary.
- Strong knowledge of trade laws, import/export regulations, and trade sanctions.
Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Indoor role requiring standing/walking, lifting up to 15 kg, ladder climbing, and working around hot molding equipment and solvents.
- Must follow safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and operate only approved low-risk tools.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Basic knowledge of trade regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, sanctions and denied party screening, product marking and recordkeeping

Bonus / Incentive Pay
Up to 10 % of annual base salary
This job is also eligible for bonus pay. This is the target earnings as % of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
This job is also eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits and specifically phone allowance, medical card, dental allowance and optical allowance. Details regarding these benefits will be provided separately.
