SUMMARY

The Technology Platform Manager is an individual-contributor platform leader responsible for the strategy, roadmap, governance, and operational performance of customer data and marketing technology platforms within Enterprise Analytics. The role's initial and primary platform responsibility is the Customer Data Platform (CDP), with accountability extending to other assigned platforms that support customer engagement, activation, measurement, and business growth.

Operating within the Enterprise Data Foundation (EDF) framework, this role establishes and governs core customer, lead, and account data standards; clarifies ownership, decision rights, and service expectations; and translates business objectives into scalable platform capabilities. The ideal candidate combines business and marketing fluency with strong technical judgment and a forward-looking understanding of data architecture, integrations, and data modeling.

Working across Marketing, Enterprise Analytics, Engineering, IT Services, and Data Governance, this leader connects business priorities to platform strategy and long-term operational effectiveness. The role partners closely with Enterprise Analytics, including the Senior Data Analyst, and operates with significant autonomy and independent judgment in setting priorities, evaluating tradeoffs, and recommending solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns the strategy, roadmap, optimization and daily operations of the CDP (currently Hightouch) and as assigned, other marketing platforms. Maintains one view across marketing platforms that shows how they work together to deliver Marketing's role in the customer value stream.
  • Prioritizes platform capabilities and enhancements by business value, customer use cases, technical feasibility, risk and fit with enterprise data strategy.
  • Stewards minimum data agreements with the EDF team: shared definitions, named owners, freshness and delivery expectations, and which system prevails when values conflict.
  • Documents and maintains decision rights with Engineering, IT Services (ITS), Analytics and Marketing for identity, consent, audience logic, journey execution and measurement. States who decides, who is consulted and how issues escalate.
  • Oversees ingestion and integration of customer data from CRM, web, mobile, e-commerce and other enterprise systems, and manages outbound connections to activation and measurement channels. Partners with Engineering and ITS on data flows, integration patterns, monitoring and reliability expectations.
  • Reviews data models and integration designs with Engineering to catch design anti-patterns, such as hard-coded values, before they reach production.
  • Defines and enforces identity-resolution rules, data-matching logic and data-quality expectations with business stakeholders. Confirms that vendor-recommended standards fit Insperity's data structures before adopting them.
  • Establishes platform governance, operating standards, ownership models, documentation, access controls, change practices and issue escalation.
  • Partners with Marketing, Sales, Services and Analytics to turn business objectives into audience requirements, reusable audience definitions, journeys, activation workflows and measurement needs. Manages intake and prioritization of new use cases.
  • Supports GDPR, CCPA and other privacy requirements with Legal, Privacy and Security. Validates in practice that consent, opt-out and deletion requests reach activation channels, and keeps evidence of that validation.
  • Enables business users through training, documentation and capability champions in Marketing, Sales and Services who provide first-line support.
  • Defines and reports platform health, data freshness, data quality, match rates, audience delivery, adoption and business outcomes.
  • Maintains architecture and data-flow documentation, business rules, source-to-target mappings, audience definitions and decision logs, so tools can be added, replaced or retired as the data foundation matures.
  • Leads triage and root-cause analysis for platform, identity, audience and activation issues, and coordinates fixes with Engineering and ITS, who own pipeline repair.
  • Manages the day-to-day relationship with platform vendors and implementation partners and evaluates their recommendations against Insperity's environment. [Insperity to decide: this role owns, or supports Procurement and Legal on, contract terms, service levels and renewal.]
  • Communicates platform strategy, priorities, risks, dependencies and outcomes to stakeholders and senior leaders.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in marketing technology, marketing operations, product or platform management, or data platform management.
  • Experience owning or managing a CDP or a comparable marketing platform. Hightouch experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CDP capabilities, ETL or ELT processes, API-based integrations, reverse ETL and data activation.
  • Working SQL and data modeling skills sufficient to review data models, validate data and investigate issues. [Insperity to set the level.]
  • Experience translating marketing objectives into technical requirements, platform capabilities and prioritized roadmaps.
  • Experience with privacy frameworks, consumer consent, preference management and data governance.
  • Strong knowledge of CDP concepts: ingestion, profile unification, identity resolution, segmentation, activation, orchestration and measurement.
  • Working knowledge of a CDP or reverse ETL platform, such as Hightouch, including source, model, audience, destination and sync concepts.
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms, data warehouses, APIs, data modeling and SQL.
  • Understanding of CRM, digital analytics, marketing activation channels and customer lifecycle use cases.
  • Understanding of data quality, lineage, access, monitoring, incident management and governance practices.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, consent, preference management and privacy-by-design.
  • Product management skills: defining a roadmap, prioritizing a backlog and connecting platform work to business outcomes.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, vendor management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • None required. Relevant cloud data platform, privacy, product management or marketing technology certifications are preferred.
