Meet your future team

As Technical Manager, you will be based in Skjern and report directly to the General Manager. You will lead a diverse and highly skilled Technical Services organisation consisting of Project Engineers, Engineering Specialists within mechanical and electronic engineering and analytics, and a Maintenance team of experienced technicians. Together, the team plays a crucial role in ensuring equipment reliability, delivering technical projects, and supporting production excellence.

You will become part of both local and international leadership forums, collaborating closely with colleagues across Operations, Engineering, Quality and Production. The role offers significant influence and autonomy, enabling you to identify opportunities, drive improvements and contribute to the continued development of a mature Lean culture built on VELUX values.

A key focus in the coming years will be the optimisation of a highly automated production facility in Skjern, which will serve as a blueprint for future implementation at one of our production sites in France.

What we offer

More specifically, your tasks will be to:

• Lead and develop the Technical Services organisation through values-based leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, safety and technical excellence.
• Ensure high levels of equipment availability, reliability and performance across production operations.
• Develop and strengthen team capabilities within engineering, technical project management, maintenance and digitalisation.
• Drive equipment stability, process optimisation and digital transformation initiatives while delivering against operational KPIs and global standards.
• Identify, evaluate and implement innovative technologies, systems and working methods that enhance productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Support the installation, integration and optimisation of new machinery and production technologies across the site.
• Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to deliver strategic projects and share best practices across the organisation.

What you will bring

You are an experienced people leader who enjoys developing teams and creating an environment where individuals can perform at their best. You combine technical expertise with strong business understanding and are equally comfortable defining strategic priorities and ensuring successful execution.

Moreover, we expect that you:

• Bring proven leadership experience from a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within a larger international organisation.
• Hold a relevant technical qualification such as Engineering, Production Technology, Marine Engineering or a comparable discipline.
• Have substantial experience leading technical, engineering, maintenance or project teams.
• Possess a strong understanding of Lean principles, operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Have experience driving technical development, automation, digitalisation or production improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively across all organisational levels and build strong relationships based on trust, collaboration and mutual respect.
• Are fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken.
