We are looking for an experienced Technical Consultant to design, develop, and implement scalable enterprise integration solutions for complex business applications, particularly within the banking and financial services ecosystem. The role offers an opportunity to work with experienced consultants, solution architects, and engineering teams to deliver cloud-based SaaS solutions for enterprise customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java, REST APIs, Kafka, and enterprise application integration. They should be capable of translating business and technical requirements into scalable implementation designs while contributing across the complete solution lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and production go-live.

This role is suited to engineers with strong technical fundamentals, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for building secure, reliable, and high-performing enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Integration and Solution Development

• Design, develop, and implement SaaS integration solutions for enterprise applications, with a focus on banking and financial services platforms.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, integration services, and event-driven solutions using Java, Kafka, and related technologies.
• Develop application, data, and system integrations across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
• Implement scalable and reusable integration components that support complex enterprise requirements.
• Apply microservices architecture and distributed systems principles to build robust and maintainable solutions.

2. Technical Solution Design and Implementation

• Analyse business requirements, technical specifications, and customer needs to develop appropriate integration designs.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with technical consultants, solution architects, product teams, and engineering stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Contribute to solution architecture discussions, technical documentation, and the development of implementation best practices.
• Ensure solutions align with established engineering standards, performance expectations, and enterprise architecture guidelines.

3. API Development and Event-Driven Architecture

• Design, develop, test, and maintain REST APIs and API integration workflows.
• Implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication patterns using Kafka.
• Integrate disparate applications and systems to enable reliable data exchange and seamless interoperability.
• Troubleshoot API and integration issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Optimise integration performance, reliability, scalability, and error-handling mechanisms.

4. Cloud and Enterprise Application Integration

• Develop and support integration solutions using cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work with cloud-native services and enterprise applications to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable integrations.
• Support integrations spanning cloud environments, on-premises infrastructure, and hybrid architectures.
• Apply working knowledge of SaaS architecture, networking, security principles, and distributed computing to implementation activities.
• Contribute to the deployment, configuration, and operational readiness of enterprise integration solutions.

5. Implementation, Testing, and Production Support

• Participate in all stages of the implementation lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and production go-live.
• Conduct technical troubleshooting and resolve integration-related issues during implementation and post-deployment activities.
• Support performance optimisation, system reliability improvements, and production issue resolution.
• Prepare technical documentation, integration specifications, and operational guidelines.
• Provide technical support during customer implementation activities and help ensure successful project delivery.

6. Client and Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Participate in customer discussions to understand technical requirements, clarify integration dependencies, and recommend suitable solutions.
• Work closely with architects, consultants, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver customer-specific implementations.
• Communicate technical concepts, implementation plans, risks, and dependencies clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of enterprise integration practices.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Typically 9+ years of experience in software engineering, application integration, enterprise solution development, or a related technical domain.
• Java: Strong hands-on expertise in Java and enterprise application development.
• REST APIs: Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and enterprise services.
• Kafka: Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures for asynchronous communication and data integration.
• Enterprise Integration: Experience integrating applications, systems, and data across complex enterprise environments.
• Microservices and Distributed Systems: Understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and system reliability.
• SQL and Data Processing: Working knowledge of SQL, data processing, and integration-related data management.
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud-based application development and integration environments.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making capabilities.
• Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with clients and cross-functional technical teams.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Exposure to banking, fintech, financial services, or core banking platforms.

• Familiarity with enterprise integration frameworks and cloud-native architecture.

Educational Qualifications

A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred. A strong foundation in computer science, combined with relevant enterprise integration experience, will be an advantage.
