Position Summary

The Technical Operations student will be responsible for tasks and activities within the Technical Operations departments of Manufacturing (MF), Process Development (PD), and Quality Control (QC). The student employee will be trained primarily in the departments into which they are assigned, and may specialize in one or more department based on project needs; however, task assignments within the operation group are at the discretion of the Department Managers and Student Coordinator. Opportunities to cross-train in other BioMARC departments than those listed above may be available based on project needs.

Essential Job Duties

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory spaces and materials and helping to keep labs in an inspection-ready state

• Maintaining materials inventory system (Inventory system maintenance, gathering materials for production, organization & storage of materials, etc.)

• Assist with tubing assembly preparation

• Assist with media/solutions preparation

• Routine monitoring of equipment

• Additional activities can be added as scheduling and training allows and based on employee’s level of proficiency

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to lift loads that weigh greater than 30lbs.

• Be able to perform moderate physical tasks.

• Must have neat handwriting, be organized, willing to follow precise instructions, and pay attention to detail.

• U.S. work authorization required

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and willingness to learn Visio, etc.

• Good time management skills, work independently, be able to communicate effectively with other staff members, and be able to balance competing priorities

• Basic laboratory skills/experience

• Background in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, engineering, or related field preferred
