Job Description: Data Migration Technical Architect 

Location:  Pune, India

Description:

Zendesk, a fast-growing web-based customer service and engagement software company, is looking for a Data Migration Technical Architect to help document and execute customer data transformation requirements into and out of Zendesk. 

In this role, you will directly consult with a wide array of external business leaders, encouraging and partnering with them as they transform their businesses! Your primary responsibilities include understanding the customer’s business needs, consulting them on Zendesk best practices, documenting their overall goals, and ensuring the project execution fulfils these goals. 

As a Data Migration Technical Architect, you will work on a cross-functional global team consisting of Project Managers and Data Engineers within the Zendesk Professional Services organisation. You need to be self-motivated and able to work on multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities to bring your projects to completion. 

In this role, you will become an expert on Zendesk data imports, data exports, and configuration replications!

Responsibilities:

Understand, document, and implement customer requirements according to scope. Ask questions and dig into the customer’s use case, capture the business problem we are solving together, and finally craft their Zendesk instance to ensure the customer's success.

• Help Zendesk customers understand standard methodologies in migrating their data
• Actively collaborate with customers in mapping their data structures into Zendesk
• Handle migration projects from start to finish
• Collaborate with developers who are performing the migrations
• Communicate & forecast resource needs over the course of multi-week projects
• Ensure platform data services work is completed on time and on budget while supporting the Professional Services delivery team
• Become a domain specialist in Zendesk Platform Data Services
• Help shape, refine, and document the processes involved in migrations

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Computer Engineering with 8+ years of
  Data Migration Architect experience
• Extensive experience working directly with customers.
• Experience with various architectures (Web, Enterprise, SaaS) 
• Experience with Python, SQL, RESTful and JSON API implementation and integration approaches
• Good understanding of ETL, data management and transformations
• Excellent instincts and ability to interface at a senior level with ease
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
• Passionate about customer service and how it can transform businesses
• Strong organisational skills and an ability to multitask under pressure

Nice to Have:

• Project Management Skills
• 2+ years of experience in Professional Services 
• Experience with Zendesk configuration, implementation approaches, and App Framework and related SSO capabilities
• Zendesk Certification(s)

Please note that Zendesk can only hire candidates who are physically located and plan to work from Karnataka or Maharashtra. Please refer to the location posted on the requisition for where this role is based.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
