Team Lead Assembler - Systems Team

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Team Lead Assembler to join the Systems B Deck Team working in North Charlston, South Carolina on 2nd shift!

 

The Team Lead will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas: pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

Primary Responsibilities:   

• Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

• Build effective resource plans.

• Identifies and communicates risks to the First Line Leader.

• Updates and communicates BPS metrics.

• Identify KPI improvement actions.

• Assigns daily work.

• Leads team in daily safety check-in.

• Monitors and reports daily progress to plan.

• Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk.

• Documents and communications shift turnover.

• Establishes overtime requirements and staffing.

• Monitor and control of 5S.

• Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues.

• Create standardized work instructions.

• Support teammates to improve their job performance, including identifying training.

• Responsible for BPS process improvements, will lead Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks.

• Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.

• Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Must be able to work 2nd shift.

• 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or fabrication.

• 1+ year of formal or informal leadership experience.

• 1+ years of experience with mechanical sub-assemblies.

• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field, including equivalent military experience, performing work with basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools.

• 1+ years of experience with Velocity and additional 787 production applications.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of experience in a lead role as either a team-builder or a team-leader

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $61,200 - $64,500​
